We booked a Category 10A Deluxe<\/a>\u00a0inside stateroom when we sailed on the Disney Dream<\/a> with the Disney Cruise Line<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This is an interior stateroom<\/a> that measures 204 square feet. \u00a0It was for a three night Disney Dream cruise, and we booked an interior room because we were on a tight budget plus with just three nights we figured we’d spend little time hanging out in our stateroom. \u00a0We were right about not spending much time in our stateroom, though the time we did spend in there was comfortable.<\/p>\n

Shortly after booking, I worried about claustrophobia setting in because of the small size of the room and the lack of a deck or window.\u00a0 I need not have worried.\u00a0 Once we opened our stateroom room door for the first time, we saw that the room had a nice layout and it made a smart use of all space!\u00a0 The virtual porthole (more on that later) also made the room seem a little bigger and brighter.<\/p>\n

Category 10A Deluxe staterooms are available on Decks 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.\u00a0 Ours was on deck 9 and situated mid-ship, which was a good location.<\/p>\n

The stateroom sleeps up to 3 or 4 people.\u00a0 My daughter and I were comfortable, and one more person would have been fine but I do think that four people in this space might have felt a bit tight.<\/p>\n

One of the best features of the stateroom was the side-by-side split bathroom.\u00a0 One bathroom had a shower and sink.\u00a0 The other bathroom had a toilet and sink.\u00a0 Having separate areas to get ready for dinner and going out made efficient use of the bathroom space.<\/p>\n

Opposite the bathrooms is the closet area.\u00a0 We found the closets big enough to hold most of our luggage and some other items.<\/p>\n

The sofa converts to a single bed at night, and there is a pull down upper berth if needed for a third or fourth person.\u00a0 My daughter slept on the single bed and said it was surprisingly comfortable.<\/p>\n

I slept on the queen bed and it was one of the best beds I\u2019ve encountered!\u00a0 \u00a0The Disney Dream queen bed was a Sealy Posturepedic Premium Plus Euro-top mattress, and with that quality and the slight vibrations of the ship I had no problems sleeping at night.\u00a0 The queen bed was elevated and underneath it was a good place to store our largest suitcase.\u00a0 There was a heavy privacy curtain that separated the queen bed from the rest of the room, a handy feature for my when my daughter stayed out late with teen activities.<\/p>\n

Opposite the sofa was a desk area with drawers, a chair, a small beverage cooler, and a 22 inch LCD flat screen TV with a swivel arm so we could watch TV from the queen bed or sofa.<\/p>\n

Our favorite feature of the room was the virtual porthole.\u00a0 It had a real time view of where the ship was, so at a glance we could see if we were at sea or in port.\u00a0 Every so often, the porthole would have a surprise visit with a Disney themed character floating by!<\/p>\n

The details of the room were well executed, and I liked the design of the lamps near the queen bed.<\/p>\n

Our state room host, Kevin, was wonderful with keeping our room clean and tidy and surprising us with towels, chocolates, and turndown service.\u00a0 Everything was shipshape at all times!<\/p>\n

One last thing we enjoyed in our stateroom was the room service!\u00a0 Most room service items are included with the cost of the cruise, and we took advantage of that for some pre-dinner nibbles.<\/p>\n
