A Walt Disney World vacation is in one word, magical. But a second word may be convenient. So we are not surprised by the release of new technology called MyMagic+ which makes many of the magical experiences at Walt Disney World just that \u2013 convenient.<\/p>\n

Before you even leave home, you can begin to use the MyMagic+ technology by creating a MyDisneyExperience account. MyDisneyExperience<\/a> serves as a central hub of sorts for different aspects of your vacation. MyMagic+ is essentially your vacation planning account and will list your resort reservation details, your tickets for the parks and any special events, your dining reservations, your FastPass+ reservations, and you can save your personal credit card info. Those special events, dining reservations, & FastPass+ reservations are actually all made through the MyDisneyExperience website or app. You can also customize your MagicBand colors or view your PhotoPass pictures here.<\/p>\n

Touch-to-enter<\/h3>\n

Your MagicBands<\/a> access the information in your MyDisneyExperience account which means they are able to pull your resort reservations and park \u201cmedia.\u201d They act as your resort room key, parking pass, and park admission \u2013 all by accessing what\u2019s stored and connected to your MyDisneyExperience account. By touching your Mickey on the middle of your band to the touchpoint on your door, the gate to your resort, or the touch points when entering a theme park, the Mickey Magic happens and the Mickey icon with a circle around it illuminates green if your data is valid.<\/p>\n

FastPass+<\/h3>\n

FastPass+ <\/a>is a reservation system that puts the power in your own hands, letting you select and schedule attractions at each park before you leave home. Walt Disney World Resort Guests can make FastPass+ reservations 60 days in advance and all other guests with purchased park admission, 30 days in advance. Taking advantage of FastPass+ lets you maximize your time in the parks while minimizing your time in line.<\/p>\n

Touch to pay<\/h3>\n

Not only can you use touch-to-enter with your MagicBand, you can also use touch-to-pay. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel and store a credit card on your MyDisneExperience account, or on your room reservation for incidentals, your MagicBand can access that payment information at points within the Walt Disney World Resort. This includes the vendor carts so you can buy a bottle of water or a Mickey, or purchase your souvenirs in a shop. You can also use this payment method when dining at counter or table service restaurants. Essentially, you can leave your wallet behind! Disney is also experimenting with other touch-to-pay methods such as ApplePay and Google Wallet.<\/p>\n

My Disney Experience app<\/h3>\n

The MyDisneyExperience app (MDE) is optimized for mobile devices to be used within the parks. You can make, edit, or cancel your FastPass+ reservations. The app also allows you to check current wait times, use a map to find the closest dining or rest rooms, make a dining reservation, check entertainment schedules, view your PhotoPass photos, and lots more! Recently, they just rolled out the ability to get in park directions! The My Disney Experience app includes information at your fingertip, and you can access all of it on the Resort\u2019s free wifi.<\/p>\n

Disney’s Magical Express<\/h3>\n

MyMagic+ isn\u2019t the only convenience of a Walt Disney World Vacation. Flying to Orlando International Airport and need to get to Walt Disney World? Disney\u2019s Magical Express <\/a>has got you covered, if you\u2019re staying at one of Disney\u2019s on-site resorts. Magically, your luggage will be claimed at the airport and delivered right to your room (up to three hours after check-in)! To help the magic, Disney will send you yellow luggage tags that are coded to help them get to the correct resort. You simply have to walk to Disney\u2019s Magical Express in the terminal, and start using the \u201ctap-to\u201d technology. You\u2019ll tap your MagicBand to the Mickey icon and the Cast Members will see your travel information and direct you to the correct queue to board a bus to your resort! Magical Express will also bring you back to the airport at the part of your trip we don\u2019t like to talk too much about \u2013 the end! There is no additional charge for this service.<\/p>\n

Disney Vacation Account<\/h3>\n

Disney knows that you need to budget for your vacation and they\u2019ve made saving easy for you! You can open a Disney Vacation Account and calculate the costs of a future vacation at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney\u2019s Aulani Resort in Hawaii, Disney Cruise Line, or Adventures by Disney vacation, then set up a plan to put aside a specific amount via a credit card, debit card, or Disney Gift Card to pay for your vacation.
