Tree Lighting Ceremony<\/strong> – On the first night on board there is a formal tree lighting ceremony. \u00a0All of your favorite Disney pals join in as Mickey counts down to the big moment.<\/p>\n

Winter Wonderland Ball<\/strong> – This was my favorite special event of the cruise. The cast members put on a fantastic show full of Christmas music and dancing, followed by the arrival of… Santa Claus! \u00a0He makes his grand entrance with Mrs. Claus. \u00a0Next comes the Disney crew (Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, Chip, Dale, Goofy and Pluto) to join in the festivities. \u00a0Finally, Anna and Elsa join in the fun with a special surprise. In an act of pure magic,\u00a0Queen Elsa uses her powers to make it snow in the atrium in the middle of the Caribbean. \u00a0The look on the faces of the kids in that room as the snow started to fall brought tears to my eyes. \u00a0It was pure Disney magic.<\/p>\n

Gingerbread<\/strong> – The life-sized gingerbread house in the atrium gives the entire room an amazing smell.<\/p>\n

If you wish to take that yummy goodness back to your stateroom, join in\u00a0the family gingerbread house making. \u00a0Your family can work together to build (and eat!) your own masterpiece. There is no additional cost to make a gingerbread house, but tickets are limited and are required for this event. Check your Navigator when you board to find out where tickets may be obtained.<\/p>\n

Characters<\/strong> – The characters on board are all decked out for the season. \u00a0Santa Goofy, Reindeer Pluto, even Stitch is sporting his Christmas outfit! One of my daughter’s favorite parts of the cruise was running into Belle in the hallway all dressed up in her beautiful Christmas dress.<\/p>\n

Trees<\/strong> – From the tree in the lobby of Port Canaveral to the enormous tree on the dock of Castaway Cay, DCL’s Christmas trees are both gorgeous and gigantic.<\/p>\n

Storytime with Mrs. Claus<\/strong> – Join Mrs. Claus by the Christmas tree in the atrium for a few of her favorite Christmas stories. \u00a0Mrs. Claus is a wonderful storyteller and it is worth your time to attend just to visit with her. \u00a0But if you stick around to the end of the event, you may just get the chance to visit with some other friends as well.<\/p>\n

Decorations<\/strong> – From the giant Christmas trees to the lights and garland on almost every surface, the ship is well decorated for the holiday. Even the cast members are dressed in scarves and Santa hats. \u00a0Part of Disney’s magic is in their attention to detail, and they have not missed any opportunity to deck their halls for the Merrytime Cruises.<\/p>\n
