As Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members, one of our family\u2019s Disney goals is to stay at each of the DVC resorts. This summer, we had the opportunity to stay at the newest member of the DVC resort family \u2013 Disney\u2019s Polynesian Village Resort<\/a>! DVC recently remodeled 3 of the existing Longhouse buildings at Disney\u2019s original Polynesian Resort, converting them into Studio villas. In addition to the Studios, DVC also added 20 Bora Bora Bungalows to the shore of the Seven Seas Lagoon. Although the Bungalows look truly amazing, our family of 3 opted to stay in one of the more practical Studios for this stay.<\/p>\n

\"Poly<\/a><\/p>\n

The DVC Studio rooms are located in the Tokelau, Pago Pago, and Moorea Longhouse buildings, and for this visit we chose to stay in one of the standard-view rooms in Tokelau. Each of the 3 buildings has it\u2019s own advantage location-wise \u2013 with Tokelau being the closest to the Great Ceremonial House, Moorea having gorgeous Lagoon-views, and Pago Pago being just minutes away from the monorail at the Ticket and Transportation Center.<\/p>\n

\"Tokelau<\/a><\/p>\n

Eventually there will be a quiet pool right outside of the Tokelau building, however the pool is currently being refurbished, so you might want to avoid staying on that side of the building for the time being, lest you end up with a scenic view of the construction. Our room was on the opposite side of the building, and we had a view of the gardens and a partial view of the Lagoon. It was nice to occasionally see a monorail glide past or to see the Ferryboats coming to and from the Ticket and Transportation Center.<\/p>\n

\"View<\/a><\/p>\n

At approximately 450 square-feet, the Studios at Disney\u2019s Polynesian Village Resort are now largest Studio rooms on-property, and you can definitely tell! Upon first walking into the room and looking down the hall towards the sliding door to the lanai, you immediately get a sense of just how spacious this Studio is.<\/p>\n

\"view<\/a><\/p>\n

The size is not the only thing about these rooms that makes the Studios at the Polynesian stand out \u2013 the Polynesian Studios are unique in that they feature a split bathroom. The split bathroom set-up includes one standard full bathroom (including a shower\/tub combo, toilet, and sink\/vanity) and a second half bathroom, which features a sink\/vanity and a walk-in rain shower.<\/p>\n

The split bath set-up was very convenient, as it allowed more than one person to get ready in the morning with ample privacy. Both of the bathrooms felt extremely spacious, and the rain shower was incredibly relaxing after a long day at the parks!<\/p>\n

Across from the bathroom is a kitchenette, which includes a dorm-sized refrigerator, sink, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. The kitchenette is small, yet convenient. It\u2019s perfect for a quick and money-saving in-room breakfast or a late night snack.<\/p>\n

\"Poly<\/a><\/p>\n

Another great feature of this Studio is that it sleeps five. Like most DVC Studios, the sleeping arrangements include a (very comfortable) queen bed and pullout sofa, but this room also features a pull-down twin bed, which was perfect for our 7-year-old daughter! We\u2019ve always found the sofa sleepers in DVC accommodations to be a major pain \u2013 pulling the bed out each night and putting it back together every morning is fairly inconvenient (especially when it\u2019s only sleeping one tiny human). So the pull-down bed under the TV was the perfect solution for our family of 3! And our daughter enjoyed falling asleep next to the whimsical Lilo and Stitch<\/em> mural alongside her special bed.<\/p>\n

\"Fold<\/a><\/p>\n

The theming of the DVC Studios at Disney\u2019s Polynesian Village Resort is amazing! The colors are bright and tropical without being garish. The furniture has a retro-modern vibe that makes you feel like you\u2019ve been transported to 1960\u2019s Hawaii, and the art is vintage Disney (including pieces inspired by Disney Legend \u2013 Mary Blair) meets the South Pacific. The furnishings are stylish, yet functional and the room was designed to include plenty of hidden storage \u2013 from the coffee table that doubles as a trunk, to the raised bed featuring hidden drawers.<\/p>\n

\"ArtCollage\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As long-time fans of the Polynesian Resort, this room exceeded our expectations and has made it to the top of our list of favorite DVC Studio villas! We could go on all day about why we love the Polynesian \u2013 the convenient monorail location, the gorgeous views of the Magic Kingdom across the lagoon, the uniquely delicious dining options (including the hippest new addition \u2013 Trader Sam\u2019s Grog Grotto), and the recently renovated Volcano pool (complete with \u201cinfinity-esque\u201d hot tub) \u2013 the Polynesian is quintessential Disney!<\/p>\n
