Do you reminisce of days gone by?\u00a0 Do you love classic pop music?\u00a0 If you grew up in the 1950s to the 1990s and love to think about the years of your youth?\u00a0 Then Disney\u2019s Pop Century Resort<\/a> might be right up your alley!<\/p>\n

This Disney value resort is unlike the rest of the values.\u00a0 While its prices are a little more than the All Stars resorts and a little less than the Art of Animation, Pop Century is the best choice within this price range in my opinion.\u00a0 All of the value\u00a0rooms are the same size (approximately 260 square feet) and have the same layout, but Pop has some advantages.<\/p>\n

The food court at Pop Century, called Everything Pop<\/a>, is one of Disney\u2019s best.\u00a0 There are several different stations, so everyone in your party will be able to find something that they\u2019d like to eat.\u00a0 You can grab dessert at the grab-and-go area, or hop over to the bakery for something a little special, like the King\u2019s Cupcake.<\/p>\n

If you prefer, though, you can tell your cashier that you\u2019d like ice cream for your dessert and return for that within 90 minutes\u2014great tip for those on a Disney Dining plan!\u00a0 They also have fun things at the food court area in which guests can participate, like The Twist in the mornings and Do The Hustle in the evenings.<\/p>\n

There are even hidden Mickeys, if you just take the time to look!<\/p>\n

The food court and resort gift shop are connected, so a trip to the gift shop is quite convenient right after a meal.<\/p>\n

If for any reason you want to try something different for a meal, just take the short walk across the bridge to the Art of Animation Resort.\u00a0 While you won\u2019t be able to use the pools there, you can definitely dine at the food court, which will practically double your resort dining options.\u00a0 What\u2019s not to love?!<\/p>\n

There are three pool areas:\u00a0 the computer pool, near the 80s and 90s section; the bowling pin pool, in the 50s section; and the Hippy Dippy pool, in the 50s section.<\/p>\n

All of the pools are great places to kick back, but the Hippy Dippy pool has activities every afternoon, as well as a dive-in movie every evening.\u00a0 Also, in the area of the Hippy Dippy pool, there\u2019s also a pool bar, as well as a ping pong table.<\/p>\n

You can pick up a ball for the table from a gum-style vending machine located at the pool bar\u2014just a quarter per ball as of the summer of 2014.<\/p>\n

There are many large icons at the different room buildings, and not only are they wonderful, they include many fun details.<\/p>\n

Take the Big Wheel icon, for example.<\/p>\n

Just check out the recommended weight on the child\u2014absolutely hilarious!<\/p>\n

Be sure to take a few minutes to check out the shadow boxes in the front desk area of the resort\u2014you just might find something from your childhood!<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for a Disney resort on a budget, Pop Century just can\u2019t be beat.\u00a0 Not only will you not share bus service to and from the parks, but you\u2019ll be able to walk to Art of Animation for a meal without having to pay a premium for staying in a Little Mermaid room (and far more for a suite).\u00a0 Of all of the Disney value resorts, Pop Century is my family\u2019s favorite one!<\/p>\n
