So, the Groundhog saw his shadow and thanks to him we\u2019re stuck with MORE WINTER! Take heart, my friends, because there is a sure sign that spring is on the way\u2026 and indeed, has already arrived. The 2014 Flower and Garden Festival at EPCOT has begun!<\/p>\n

\nThe things we’ve always loved about the Flower & Garden Festival have returned \u2013 especially the beautiful topiaries featuring beloved Disney characters. Here are a few old friends:<\/p>\n

\nAnd here is a glimpse of one of this year\u2019s newest additions: Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy!<\/p>\n

\"Flower<\/a>
\nThe topiaries can be found all over the park and enjoyed during a leisurely stroll around World Showcase and Future World. For those interested in delving deeper into topics of nature, there are plenty of opportunities for that as well. New this year is the Gardener\u2019s Palette, which brings color theories in the world of gardening to life in a vivid display.<\/p>\n

\nAnd there\u2019s an entire garden dedicated to Hummingbirds and their preferred habitats.<\/p>\n

\"Flower<\/a>
\nOne of my personal favorite displays every year is the amazing Bonsai trees in the Japan Pavilion. This tree is 50 years old\u2026 and isn’t even the oldest of the bunch.<\/p>\n

\nThat barely scratches the surface, and we haven\u2019t even mentioned the presentations from some of Home and Garden TV\u2019s biggest stars and other gardening experts!<\/p>\n

\nLet\u2019s say you\u2019re like me and have a brown thumb :). Even if exploring gardening topics isn\u2019t you\u2019re thing, there\u2019s still plenty of fun in store for you. The \u201cFlower Power\u201d Concert Series , featuring musicians from the 60s (Lovin\u2019 Spoonful), 70s (The Village People), and 80s (Alan Parsons Live Project \u2013 NEW this year!). And the list goes on…<\/p>\n

\nPerhaps you\u2019re a fan the Food & Wine Festival that happens at EPCOT each fall. You may need to plan a spring trip one of the days to experience the Food Booths unique to Flower & Garden. Now called \u201cOutdoor Kitchens,\u201d 11 different stands carry oodles of treats from sweet to savory, and fun to complex.<\/p>\n

\nOutside many of the kitchens, you can find live plants displaying certain ingredients used in the dishes.<\/p>\n

\nAnd there\u2019s always shopping to do!<\/p>\n
