{"id":31762,"date":"2013-12-17T04:06:32","date_gmt":"2013-12-17T09:06:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/?p=31762"},"modified":"2022-05-04T21:50:00","modified_gmt":"2022-05-05T01:50:00","slug":"im-dreaming-disney-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/im-dreaming-disney-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m Dreaming of a Disney Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Mickey-Ornament.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-31766\" alt=\"Mickey Ornament\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Mickey-Ornament-243x300.jpg\" width=\"243\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Mickey-Ornament-243x300.jpg 243w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Mickey-Ornament.jpg 486w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 243px) 100vw, 243px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Although I AM dreaming of a Disney Christmas, I\u2019ll be celebrating the holiday at home 1,000 miles away from Walt Disney World.\u00a0 \u00a0That\u2019s Ok, though!\u00a0 We can\u2019t take\u00a0ourselves to Walt Disney World for the holidays, but we can bring a bit of Disney to our own homes to enjoy at Christmas time.<\/p>\n<p>There are so many ways to bring some Disney touches to your family\u2019s holiday!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Watch Christmas themed Disney movies, holiday specials, and the Christmas Parade at Walt Disney World on television.\u00a0 There are several Disney Christmas programs airing during the month of December, and your local public library may offer some of the Christmas movies on Blu-Ray or DVD for you to rent and enjoy.\u00a0 Our favorites are Mickey\u2019s Christmas Carol and Prep and Landing, but there are many Christmas programs we watch each year!<\/li>\n<li>Hang some Disney Christmas ornaments on your Christmas tree!\u00a0 Some families buy an ornament as a special souvenir on each trip, which is a nice tradition!\u00a0 If you don\u2019t buy ornaments while traveling, Disney ornaments are easy to find at local stores.\u00a0 Hallmark offers a nice selection of Disney themed ornaments every year.\u00a0 Disney ornaments are also readily available at various &#8220;big box&#8221; and pharmacy stores in many locations.<\/li>\n<li>Deck the Halls with Disney!\u00a0 \u00a0Disney holiday decorations are just as easy to find as Disney Christmas tree ornaments are.\u00a0 Consider adding a Disney touch with themed stockings and other decorations throughout the house.\u00a0 Decorative yard inflatable characters are available in Disney themes as well as caroling characters, plush characters, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Be creative!\u00a0 If you don\u2019t want to buy new decorations, perhaps you can make some \u00a0decorations of your own.\u00a0 Pair a large wreath with two smaller wreaths to make a classic \u201cMickey Head\u201d wreath to display.\u00a0 Enlist help from the family to make new ornaments for the Christmas tree.\u00a0 Even the youngest children can color a picture of their favorite character to cut and hang on the tree or use \u201cpixie dust\u201d glitter to enhance some old decorations and ornaments.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Add a little Disney flavor to your holiday cookies and menus!\u00a0 Mickey shaped cookie cutters can be purchased at Disney Parks and online.\u00a0 When you make sugar cut-out cookies, do a few Mickey cookies for fun!\u00a0 Consider adding a recipe you have enjoyed on a Disney vacation to your holiday meal.\u00a0 Last year, we had the pasta salad from Animal Kingdom Lodge\u2019s Boma with our Christmas ham and that was a nice addition to the holiday buffet!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Make the holiday season a merry one with some Disney fun, and have a wonderful Christmas!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Although I AM dreaming of a Disney Christmas, I\u2019ll be celebrating the holiday at home 1,000 miles away from Walt Disney World.\u00a0 \u00a0That\u2019s Ok, though!\u00a0 We can\u2019t take\u00a0ourselves to Walt Disney World for the holidays, but we can bring a bit of Disney to our own homes to enjoy at Christmas time.
