There’s nothing finer than a leisurely stroll around World Showcase at dusk. What could possibly make that better? Well, wine of course! A hidden treasure at World Showcase is the Wine Walk. This is an opportunity to sample a variety of wines from several countries at a minimal price. Wine lovers, rejoice!<\/p>\n

World Showcase Lagoon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

To begin your tastings just visit the one of three countries: France, Germany or Italy. Each of these pavilions has their own winery where you can purchase a Wine Walk passport. The cost is currently twenty dollars and buys you two samples of wine from each of these countries. My husband and I shared these to save a bit of money, but it’s not too much for one person. You can take as much time as you like, or even break up your tastings over couple of visits. We began our journey at the Aux Vins de France.<\/p>\n

The selections you’ll taste here are\u00a0Georges Duboeuf Pouilly Fuisse, Macon:<\/em>\u00a0A Chardonnay from Burgandy, and\u00a0Fuisse<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Chateau Tour de Segur Bordeaux, Lussac St. Emilion:\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0a rich red, similar to a merlot.<\/p>\n

Germany’s \u00a0tastings at the Wienkellar are both of a sweeter variety. Here you find\u00a0Valekenberg Madonna Spatlese <\/em>and\u00a0<\/em>Valekengerg Madonna Leibframilch, Castello.\u00a0<\/em>I’m not a huge fan of sweet wines, but this is the perfect opportunity to try something different without a commitment. \u00a0I still prefer dry, though.<\/p>\n

Our final destination is Enoteca Castello in Italy. This is the same little shop where they sell their gorgeous Venetian masks. Here you’ll sample \u00a0Banfi San Angelo Pinot Grigio, Tuscany IGT \u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Castello Banfi Rosa Regale, Piedmont DOCG.\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0This last selection is a sparkling wine and a perfect \u00a0way to end the night!<\/p>\n

The Wine Walk is a lovely experience for several reasons. The first, of course, is getting to sample some interesting and diverse wines. Secondly, this experience encourages you to explore these countries and linger as you enjoy their offerings. Lastly, you recieve a small but lovely little souvenir in the passport which lists all the wines you got to try. It is stamped with adorable representations of each country which makes it a great \u00a0keepsake. If you’re looking for a different way experience World Showcase, give the Wine Walk a try!<\/p>\n
