My family recently had a wonderful stay at Kidani Village,\u00a0one of the newest Disney Vacation Club resorts next door to Animal Kingdom Lodge.\u00a0\u00a0 I love the resort, but the quick service dining options were lacking a bit at least for dining plan choices.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This would not stop me from staying here again, but I would most likely do it on a \u201cnon dining plan\u201d stay and just plan to eat more meals in our villa at least on the days we were enjoying the resort.<\/p>\n

The small gift shop off the lobby has a refillable mug station, as well as some snack products and a small variety of packaged and frozen foods to be used in your villa.\u00a0\u00a0 The floor in front of the soda station was sticky every time I visited which was a bit disappointing for Disney; no one likes to walk away with their shoes squeaking.\u00a0\u00a0 There is another refillable mug station down by the pool.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mugs can be purchased at any Disney resort for $13.49 (price subject to change) and is good for the length of that stay.<\/p>\n

While there were further dining options at the pool,\u00a0the hours were limited to when the pool was open and the dining plan credits were not accepted for either the regular menu or the private dining.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I asked about the private dining and basically you sat at a poolside table and\u00a0and the meal is served to you.\u00a0\u00a0 I am not sure if you had to order at the bar or if there was a wait person taking orders.\u00a0\u00a0 Quite a few people seemed to be taking advantage of this option, and the food did look tasty, however I had dining plan credits to use up so did not try this option.<\/p>\n

You also have the option of a great new table service restaurant Saana, which also has a lounge that serves a few appetizers.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Animal Kingdom Lodge is a short stroll away (well depending on how tired you are) or you can take the bus over, and their counter service restaurant Mara is available with plenty of options.<\/p>\n

Whatever your choice, there are options; I just didn\u2019t feel they were as \u201cdining plan friendly\u201d as you find at some of the resorts.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And I have always found that the value resorts have better food court options than the deluxe resorts, I guess that Disney assumes people staying in a deluxe resort will be eating table service meals more often than not, and in this case, guests staying in a Disney Vacation Club Villa will be doing some of their own cooking<\/p>\n
