I don’t know about you, but there is something to be said about dining at the Walt Disney World Resort.\u00a0 I enjoy dining almost as much as I enjoy riding the rides in the parks.\u00a0 Of course for me, it is largely due to the fact that I come from a family that loves to cook and that has been in the food business for most of my life.\u00a0\u00a0 But even if you are not a self-proclaimed “foodie”, you will have to agree that the restaurants of Walt Disney World are some of the finest.<\/p>\n

While I always look forward to making my ADR’s, I find myself missing some of the foods in between trips.\u00a0 Luckily, the good people at Disney are not greedy about sharing their recipes and if you are adventurous enough, you can make some of your favorites at home!<\/p>\n

Over the years, I asked for maybe a handful of recipes while I was actually still in the park.\u00a0 As time went on, I would email after I got home and then they would snail-mail me a copy of a recipe.\u00a0 Keep in mind, when they send a recipe, it is usually for an amount much larger than what I am looking to make so be sure that you are comfortable with adjusting measurements (or be prepared to eat what you are making for a long time!).<\/p>\n

There are also a ton of websites dedicated to just this topic and it is not difficult to find your favorites on line so that you can make them at home.\u00a0 My Disney friends and I have all tried this when we get together; we’ll try to aim for at least one recipe per get-together that is directly from WDW.\u00a0 We have made spinach and artichoke dip from the Sci-Fi Drive In Restaurant in Hollywood Studios, specialty sandwiches from the Polynesian Resort, we’ve made the Dole Whip that you find in Adventureland as well as choosing some of the kid-themed meals from throughout the parks.\u00a0 Even when I’m not with my Disney girls, I’ve managed to prepare a Disney-inspired meal for my family.\u00a0 I’ve served buttermilk fried chicken from a POP Century Resort recipe as well as the French Toast Loaf from the Main Street Bake Shop in Magic Kingdom (and no, not at the same time!).<\/p>\n

Don’t be afraid to ask your server for a recipe or to e-mail Walt Disney World Guest Relations once you get home.\u00a0 It’s a lot of fun to treat your friends and family to a little Disney cuisine between trips.<\/p>\n
