Having a Disney trip planned always gives us something to look forward to. You start by counting down the months, weeks and than when it comes down to that last 60 days its like you can hear the sounds of main street come alive as you walk in, you can smell the confectionery and you can taste that first spoon full of Dole Whip! For our house and family with a toddler who does not grasp time quiet yet having a Disney vacation countdown was a must for our most recent trip!
I created this Up inspired Mickey balloon countdown. Not only did this add some Disney decor to our hallway it created a daily reminder of the fun we were looking forward to have as we removed a balloon nightly before bed. This was a quick project and I had everything to complete it already at home.
This was such a hit in our house that I have created a few Disney vacation countdowns for other families and given them as gifts. With a time commitment around 40 minutes from start to finish you can create them on the fly as needed. Have a family/child that is into a specific character – you can choose paper colors or prints that are specific to them, to make it more personalized.
Paper cutter – I have a Cricut Explore
Card stock (5 12in x 12in sheets)- or this can be scraps from previous projects
Tape for hanging
Bakers twine or string for creating the balloon strings ( I get mine from the dollar section at Target- SCORE!)
Right click on image above and save to you computer
Upload to your paper cutting design suite
Adjust the size of the balloons to 3.5 inches wide
Cut 60 balloons
Cut twine in about 6 inches sections
Using wall safe tape hang the balloons

I grew up with memorable family vacations to the world along with my Dad coming home from work and surprising us with the newest Disney movie release on VHS! I now am creating what I hope to be lasting Disney memories for my family through travel, crafting and sing alongs in the car.
