Minnie Mouse will begin to meet guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in an all-new character greeting location in the Animation Courtyard beginning on October 8. Minnie’s new meet and greet location will be inspired after “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” In this area, guests are also also meet other Disney Junior favorites including Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First and Jake from “Jake and the Never Land Pirates.”
Jedi Training Academy at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is being re-imagined with a new experience that includes new characters and a new villain from the popular Disney XD series, “Star Wars Rebels.” To prepare for this, the current version of Jedi Training Academy will accept its last Padawans on Oct. 4. Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple will open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios later this year.
At the Magic Kingdom, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe will be closed for refurbishment Sept. 28-30. The location will reopen on Oct. 1 with a new menu serving fajitas, burritos and rice bowls.
German Reunification Day is on Saturday, Oct. 3. From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Germany pavilion, Guests can participate in a Discovery Experience and receive an award certificate.
China National Day is on Thursday, Oct. 1. From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the China pavilion, Guests can participate in a Discovery Experience and receive an award certificate.
Chefs de France at Epcot will begin serving dinner at 4:00 p.m.
Beginning Oct. 4, Epcot Guests will be able to meet Daisy Duck at the gazebo near Showcase Plaza. As a result, Duffy the Disney Bear’s last day at Epcot will be Saturday, Oct. 3.
Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom will see a refurbishment from January 10-14, 2016.
Disney has unveiled their newest marketing campaign called “Unforgettable Happens Here.” Through this campaign, Guests are invited to create their own unforgettable moments on their vacations; where both big and little become stories that will be forever told and retold, never to be forgotten.
Beginning Oct. 1, Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be expanding by adding a new Chef’s Degustation Menu, a series of 10 small courses featuring some of Chef Scott Hunnel’s favorite dishes inspired by the seasons and his world travels to Asia, Spain, Italy and France. The seven-course Chef’s Tasting Menu will still be offered. The seven-course menu is $185 while the 10-course menu is $235. The seven-course menu wine pairing is an additional $65 and the 10-course menu wine pairing is an additional $105. While in the adjacent Queen Victoria Room, diners will also be offered Chef Hunnel’s 10-course menu and optional wine pairing from Victoria & Albert’s impressive wine cellar. Dinner in the Queen Victoria Room is $235, but an additional $150 for wine pairing.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will recognize Botswana’s Independence Day on Wednesday, Sept. 30. There will be a themed table at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge—Jambo House Lobby from 2–3:30 p.m. Guests will immerse into Botswana culture and learn fun facts during the afternoon.
Disney Vacation Club will be opening up a second round of DVC units at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. These units are expected to include waterfront cabins and will be considered the 14th Disney Vacation Club development. To help accommodate this new addition, it appears that there will also be a few new updates of the resort. They include a guest boardwalk, as well as a new “bar grill” and a new pool.
