Mouse Bites 7/15/13

Hi!  I’m filling in for Rikki this week with the Walt Disney World news.  Actually, it’s a good week for me to fill in because some of the news is from my favorite time of the year at Walt Disney World.  I love all the different offerings during the holiday season at Walt Disney World.

The Disney elves have been really busy, and some holiday events will start as early as November 8, 2013.   Some of the highlights include as follows:

  • Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party – This party is a hard-ticket (additional charge) event at the Magic Kingdom.  Guests who attend this party can enjoy the special holiday parade, live shows, fireworks, and snow flurries on Main Street.  The 2013 dates are November 8, 11, 14, 15, 17, 21, 22 and December 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20.
  • Candlelight Processional – This holiday classic combines the reading of the Christmas Story with seasonal classics.  A guest celebrity narrator is accompanied by a mass choir and a 50-piece live orchestra.  The Candlelight Processional is performed at Epcot nightly November 29 – December 30 at 5:00, 6:45, and 8:15 pm.
  • The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights – This light display in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a light display on steroids!  With the lights synchronized to holiday music, this is a display that is sure to put a smile on everyone’s face.  The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights sparkle on the Streets of America from November 8, 2013 – January 5, 2014.

I just read over on the Disney Parks Blog that the next wave of Hidden Mickey pins will be making it to Walt Disney World in late July 2013.  My kids like trading pins, and there are some pins that I know my kids are really going to want to trade for.  Honestly, there were a few that I liked, too.  You can see the pictures over on the Disney Parks Blog.

“Long-lost Friends Week” returns to the Magic Kingdom from July 15 – 21, 2013 as part of the Limited Time Magic.  Fans will have a chance to see rarely seen characters that will appear in Town Square on Main Street U.S.A.  These rarely seen characters could include characters from “Robin Hood”, “Chicken Little”, and “Song of the South”.  What a great chance for a special photo opportunity or special personal interaction!
