Disney Favorites Through the Alphabet – “B”

I’m back with my second installment of my Disney favorites through the alphabet.  There are so many great Disney things that start with the letter “B” that it is hard to know where to begin.  Well, ok, I do know where to begin, and I think I will head over to Walt Disney World first.  When planning that vacation, one always runs the cost of the trip, once, twice, and maybe three times.  I know I do.  I look at the figures to see where the best place to cut costs is.  It always comes down to transportation.  Now, I fly almost coast-to-coast, and the airfare is a huge chunk of my vacation costs.  So, why would I even dream of paying to take a taxi from the Orlando airport to my resort home-away-from-home?  Nope, I take a bus and not just any bus.  I take Disney’s Magical Express bus.  This is one of the best values of a Walt Disney World onsite stay!

My daughter says that the vacation begins as soon as the video on the bus begins.  That’s exactly how I feel when I sit back and leave the driving to someone else.

Of course, another sign of the vacation beginning is when I see the beach of the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.  Nothing like a nice walk on the beach (just don’t go in the water).

One disappointing thing this year is that my daughter has “grown out of” Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.   The memories still linger, though.

Now, we jaunt back over to Disneyland to see the town of Big Thunder (Big Thunder Mtn. Railroad).  Did you know that this town was originally called Rainbow Ridge and was part of the Rainbow Caverns Mine Train (and then Mine Train from Nature’s Wonderland) from 1956-1977.  {Info from Disneyland.com}  The town sure looks good for its age!

Here is another look at Big Thunder Mtn Railroad.

One of my son’s favorite characters is Buzz Lightyear.  Buzz is a well traveled spaceman because not only has he traveled to the the space station, he has also traveled from coast-to-coast in the United States.  In Disneyland, his attraction is known as Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.  In the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, his attraction is named Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

While my daughter has officially outgrown Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, she still has a real appreciation for Disney princesses (and Tinker Bell).  In the “C” post, I will display her favorite princess (Bet you know who!), but for the sake of the letter “B”, I will show a close third.  Here we have Belle and the Beast from Beauty and the Beast.  In Disneyland, we rarely see the princes, so it was a treat to see this float a couple of years ago.  Isn’t Belle’s dress beautiful?
