Over a year ago, Disney shared that they would be updating Splash Mountain at both the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World and at Disneyland Park. This new update would be themed around the animated classic, The Princess and the Frog and would further tell the story of Princess Tiana. Today, Disney has share a few more details about what we can expect with this new attraction.
As seen in the above concept rendering of the attraction, the story will take place after the final kiss. Guests will join Prince Naveen, Louis, and Tiana on her latest adventure. During the attraction, Guests will see that Tiana is hosting a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras celebration. The attraction, which hasn’t been named just yet, will include original music that is inspired by songs from the film. (Yay! Princess and the Frog has some of my favorite music! I frequently belt out “Almost There” in my car when I’m alone….) Along the journey, Guests will be able to encounter some old friends and make new ones along the way.
With this latest attraction update, Disney did not share any details about when either Splash Mountain attraction would be closing. They also didn’t share a timeline on when the new attraction was expected to open.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the latest about this refurbishment.
