If you are itching to get back to the Walt Disney World theme parks following the closure due to the coronavirus and have been wondering what attractions would be available when the parks reopened, have I got some news for you! Today the Walt Disney World Resort shared the list of attractions that will be open to Guests visiting all four theme parks. As a reminder, the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will reopen on July 11 and Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT will reopen on July 15. Also important to note is that in order to be able to visit the parks, Guests will need to make a reservation in advance and details about that process can be found here.
When things officially reopen, they will, of course, look a little different. Most of your favorite attractions will be open. This includes Spaceship Earth at EPCOT, which was a big question mark because the attraction had been marked to go down for refurbishment during the time period that the parks were closed. Disney has however shared that the refurbishment work has been paused.
You will still be able to see your favorite characters too, but it won’t be in the ways that you normally would. Unfortunately no hugs or autographs from Cinderella! Instead, there will be a number of special cavalcades and processions that will feature the characters in the parks. For example, right now at Disney Springs, Disney is already offering the ability to see Stormtroopers patrolling from the buildings above.

Guests will be able to experience special cavalcades down the Magic Kingdom parade route, characters sailing the waterways of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, processions along the World Showcase promenade at EPCOT and motorcades on Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Hollywood Boulevard.

In addition, you never know where you’ll see characters, besides these cavalcades. For example, you may see Buzz Lightyear after rocketing through space in Tomorrowland, or Captain Jack Sparrow in the queue of Pirates of the Caribbean, or Anna and Elsa around World Showcase, or members of the Resistance hiding from the First Order in Black Spire Outpost.
Many Walt Disney World entertainment acts will also be returning, like the Main Street Philharmonic at the Magic Kingdom, Mariachi Cobre and the JAMMitors at EPCOT, and more.
