Guests are invited to connect with the animals and celebrate the wonders of nature at Disney’s Animal Kingdom‘s Earth Week Celebration which will take place from April 18-24, 2022. The park is pulling out all the stops to celebrate. For example, Guests will be treated to unique character sightings and fun learning opportunities. Plus, there will be specialty merchandise, themed food and beverages, a limited-time Wilderness Explorer badge and more.
Activities
During this fun-filled week, if you are a fan of characters, Guests can expect to see special characters who will join favorite Disney pals on the Discovery Island Character Cruise as it sails around Discovery River. Plus, be on the lookout for more character sightings on Discovery Island.
Moving over to The Animation Experience at Conservation Station, Guests can learn favorite Disney characters based on animals, like Crush and Squirt, Bruce, Dumbo, Terk, Heimlich, Shere Khan and Simba.
Are you into the incredibly fun Wilderness Explorers? There will be nature-themed challenges that will allow Guests to earn a limited-time Wilderness Explorer Earth Day Nature badge.
If you’ve bought Disney PhotoPass, you’ll want to make sure to take advantage of special Earth Day Celebration Magic Shots and Tiny World Shots. Currently, Guests can get a Magic Shot that adds Wall-E and Eve from Disney and Pixar’s animated feature “Wall-E”. Plus, those who purchase Genie+ can add Wilderness Explorer accessories to their photos using a Disney PhotoPass Lens.
For those looking for merchandise, there will be an Earth Day 2022 limited-edition trading pin. Of you can pick up a cuddly plush inspired by some of the species that call Disney’s Animal Kingdom home. Over at Island Mercantile’s you can even pick up eco-friendly water bottles, tumblers and reusable bags that promote sustainability.
It’s not a Disney celebration without a cupcake here you’ll be able to pick up the Honeybee Cake at Restaurantosaurus and Creature Comforts. You can also grab a strawberry-flavored Flamingo Cupcake at Pizzafari and Flame Tree Barbecue. Looking for specialty beverages? They will offer the Sea Turtle, a frozen blend of blue raspberry and lemonade, topped with cotton candy.
Finally, beginning April 2, guests can view an incredible sand sculpture celebrating Disneynature’s “Polar Bear.” The new film will stream on Disney+ beginning on Earth Day.
Oh and did we forget to mention, Earth Week is even more special at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! That’s because the park will be celebrating its 24th anniversary on Earth Day!
