This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company and the celebration is currently underway. At Walt Disney World, the Disney100 celebration will see EPCOT as the host park for this monumental milestone which is slated to kick off in September. September 22, to be exact.
While Guests can currently capture photos with the Disney100 backgrounds that can be found all four theme parks and Disney Springs, you’ll soon be able to snap a photo with a new platinum Mickey Mouse sculpture in World Celebration. What makes this even cooler is the fact that the photo will feature Spaceship Earth in the background. Also, you definitely want to take advantage of the Disney100 Magic Shots and PhotoPass offerings currently available across the Walt Disney World Resort.
In World Celebration, you’ll find an all-new mural to celebrate the occasion. This mural is located along the walkway to World Showcase. It will feature some of your favorite characters hidden throughout the various neighborhoods of EPCOT. See how many of the 100 Disney characters you can find. The rest of World Celebration will also be decked out in Disney100 platinum banners and dĂ©cor.
Also, get ready to hug and snap a photo with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their platinum best. The duo will be found in the Imagination! pavilion. In addition, Spaceship Earth will light up each night with special colors and lights accompanied by the Disney100 anthem, which will be a unique rendition of “When You Wish Upon a Star.”
Guests will be able to pick up special food for the celebration at both the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival and the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. Oh and of course, there will be a special popcorn bucket that will only be available at EPCOT. It will be a purple metallic Mickey Balloon Premium Popcorn Bucket.
The Disney100 celebration is only available at Walt Disney World for a limited time! Guests can catch it from September 22 to December 31, 2023.
