Expedition Everest - December 2005 Update

While wandering through Animal Kingdom on our last day at Mousefest, Binnie, Linda S., Mike S. and I (Carol V.) decided to take a peek at Expedition Everest to see how it was coming along.

Expedition Everest from afar.

As we stood here, taking in the view, Mike started discussing how he'd happily offer himself up as a human "sandbag" if they would just let him take a ride on this awesome new attraction. We stood there staring, trying to decide which slope was an "up" slope and which was a "down" slope when all of the sudden a "train" started creeping up the slope on the far left of the mountian! We were all pretty excited that we now knew which direction the ride ran!

The train leaves the "station" on the left and heads straight up the mountain.

Now we were REALLY excited over this new observation and we stood there laughing, realizing how much closer they were to "human testing" and thinking what great fun Mike's idea would be! We were thinking that it was just too darn bad that they were just in the "sandbag" testing stages when we SAW PEOPLE in the train, going up the side of the mountain!

Well!! We all came to life with that one. Closer observation led us to see that there were 2 people in the front row of this train! So we watched. A few minutes later we saw another train creeping up the track, this time with 2 people in the center row and two people in the last row!

Check out the VERY back row and
towards the center. You can see people sitting in the seats.

Ok! WE ARE THERE! We took off towards Everest in hopes of being human crash test dummies (I guess dummies being the KEY WORD!). Once we got there, we could see part of the wall was down, so we had a clear view of the area.

The Fast Pass machines are to the left of this building.
