Cast of Characters: Ann (Me!) aka Disneyfreak-36 BIL John-51
Nephew Matthew-19 and Niece Sarah-17.
When: December 2005
This is my trip report with the tickets for four I won from KRTH (K-Earth) 101.
The weather was very chilly and mostly cloudy all day and the
weather reported a slight chance of showers late night which didn't
happen and was very crowded at both parks. We wanted Sarah to bring
a nice jacket but wouldn't.
I had the day off from my work but my BIL had to work at Macy's 6-
3:30pm; we had to get ready and met him there when he gets off so we
can get right there. While we waited we had lunch at the mall food
court which it was a zoo! and food was pretty good!
We paid for parking at Minnie's section of Mickey and Friends
structure and proceeded to the tram without much a wait. We arrived
at 4:30pm btw. We were searched and then went to get a blue
wristband at the radio station booth to use when we go to their after
hours party after DCA closed to the public. DL was full and didn't
let anymore new people in so therefore we didn't even get to go there.
We went in DCA and got fast passes at Soarin' because average stand
by wait is 1/2 hour so then we proceeded to our first ride with John,
Sarah, and Me only Maliboomer, then Orange Stringer, and then Zephere
all without much a wait and then Sarah wanted to ride Sun Wheel w/
revolving cars so John, Sarah, and I were in stand by line and waited
1/2 hour. John absolutely HATED the ride and thank God there's an
airsick bag there, I didn't like it very much neither but Sarah loved
it.
Afterwards, we all walked along to look at shops. Then we all
passed a ladies' Mariachi band singing Disney and Christmas songs to
Torilla Factory where you get free torillas and the place to get free
soardough bread both were awesome! Made us feel better!
Afterwards, we all went back to Soarin' and returned our Fast Passes and sat in the last row. It's still our favorite ride of all. We couldn't even
go to Calfiornia Screamin btw.
We went walking around to get dinner, first we tried to go in Ariel's place but they were closed to walkin's, and then went to look at the restaurants at GC but all were expensive; to we decided to go to Taste Pilot's Grill. Matthew, Sarah, and John ordered ribs with onion rings sub and I ordered ribs w/ fries; and all of us loved it alot and ordered all ice waters.
We then passed the Electrical parade route on our way to Muppets in 3D, actually there was only 15 people w/ us three (Matthew didn't go in) which is really nice, then went to Tower Of Terror solo while they waited to watch the fireworks
at DL; I sat in the 3rd row by myself; well actually three chubby family members wanted to sit in 2nd row together but didn't have room so one of them sat by me on other side. He flicked off this mirror thing, I wondered then if this will be in this picture and ruined it! When we went on the top floor we could see the fireworks at the same time at DL. I absolutely had a biggest SCARE of my life on any
ride ever and when it was all over it I had a heart beating fast!! I'll never ride this solo again and I advice anyone not to ride it unless you're in absolutely in perfect health and w/out any heart conditions!
Afterwards we went to couple more shops and they have something I want a Mickey PDA w/ timer on Fast Passes, trivia, etc. hopefully someday I'll get it but didn't have money to buy it (it's $19.00) and DVD of the parks for $19.00!
On our way to get dessert we went to get this free poloroid of us w/
Mickey and Minnie in Christmas outfits and they took some w/ my
digital camera also. I was excited! It came out ok. Then we went to
the bakery to get dessert and hot drinks which John bought all of
us. I had cupcake which was little tough and regular coffee, John
had cheesecake and hot cafe mocha, Sarah had hot chocolate and cake,
and Matthew had hot chocolate and cinnamon sticks.
We then walked to the stage area where the band in tribute to The Beatles called The Fab Four which they had 3 different shows w/ their different outfits and got autographs from K-Earth DJ's. The band dressed like Sgt. Peppers' Lonely Hearts Club Band and sang three songs and were great! After the show, it was 11:30pm and all were tired and left DCA for home.
Highlights: Free tickets radio station, free water and ranch
dressing, hardly any lines at a DCA rides, great concert, free
pictures w/ Mickey and Minnie.
Low lights: Being almost queasy after Sun Wheel w/ moving car,
being scared in Tower of Terror, no money for the DVD and PDA, and
didn't get in DL.
