Fowler - May 21, 2005

Cast of Characters: Me--Ann aka Disneyfreak (35/F), Brother--David (49/M), and Neice (my Sister's daughter)--Sarah (17/F).

When: May 21, 2005

I received a phone call from David asking me what I'm doing Saturday and like to take me and Sarah to DL/DCA for one-day park hopping earlier that week and I was very excited but worried cause I had to pay my way in and have to get my computer fixed the same time.

Friday afternoon after work, I deposted my paycheck and met David at my Sister's to have dinner at Hometown Buffet (great place to eat!) and spend the night at my place. He's a truck driver BTW.

We woke up at 5:00am and spent an hour getting ready for DL/DCA which he drove in his big rig and went on 91 to Harbor Exit and had breakfast at McDonald's across the street on Harbor. There were three busses parked full of students but the wait wasn't very long and plenty of clean tables. I ordered two sausage mcmuffins w/ egg combo w/ coffee, David ordered the same minus hash browns, and Sarah ordered hot cakes w/ sausage and water.

We took a few pictures and then headed to the parking lot at Mickey and Friends lot at the Pinocchio area which was $12.00 for trucks. Then quickly went on a tram and went to a bag search booth for my see-thru bag which the CM's love! Then we went in line for tickets and took advantage of So. Calif. One Day Park Hopper for $5.00 off regular price which was $68.00.

We went inside DL and right away we met w/ Goofy and took pictures w/ him cause Sarah wore a Goofy hat. The girls before us almost lost a ticket which we gave back.

Then we went to get a Fast Pass for Splash Mountain which we returned at 12:30pm, cause of the hot weather conditions later and figured it was a long wait; then got in stand by line for Haunted Mansion which wasn't very long. The ride has changed alot since we all last got there but enjoyed it (though we barely fit inside the doombuggy!), then we quickly got in standby line for Pirates of the Carribean which was a 20 min. wait and we sat in the back row by ourselves. Sarah wanted to go to Tarzan's Treehouse so we all went there and played around and took pictures and she had a ball. Afterwards, we went to get a Fast Pass for Indiana Jones Ride which we returned at 2:45pm. We then went inside Tiki Tiki Room and we sat way in the back and the rows of seats didn't give much space in between otherwise they behaved great and so was the show! Went back to Splash Mountain to returned Fast Pass and not very long wait and we sat Sarah, Me, and then David in the car; I had picture taken and bought the souvenior photo and all of us got wet/not soaked! We then rode the King Authur Carrosel and the Mr. Toad's Wild Ride; then we went to take a picture of the 12NOON sign at Small World on our way to ToonTown to ride the Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin which was almost an hour standby wait.

We, then left the DL and headed right to DCA to have lunch at Taste Pilot's Grill cause this had fix-in's bar and while Sarah and David ordered their lunch, I took their tickets to get Fast Passes for Grizzly Run cause of the hot weather and it was returned between 6-7pm and went to get Fast Pass for also California Screamin and returned between 3-4pm. They were almost finished eating when I came back w/ these passes. Sarah and David ordered cheeseburger and fries w/ sodas for $9.00 total each and I ordered chili-cheese fries w/ sour cream and soda which came to $5.50. I don't know about their meals, but my fries were cold and I forgot chili had beans.

We quickly left DCA to return to DL to use the Fast Pass to Indiana Jones and we sat in the 2nd row left side and was great ride.

Back to DCA to return Fast Passes for Screamin' which the standby line was over an hour; we sat in the last two rows. They didn't launch at first but did the 2nd time and was GREAT! We then went on Orange Stinger, three of us the first time, and then David went on once again w/out a wait at all. David and I went on Maliboomer w/out a wait while Sarah (w/out even telling us!) went on Stinger again). I bought a few things while David and I waited for Sarah to come out of the ride including the $2.00 yellow bracelet w/ Mickey on it. We went on Sun Wheel w/ the sliding gongola which I went on w/out sliding the first time; I admit I liked it once you get used to it; we took pictures btw; when we went back to returned Fast Pass for Grizzly's Run which was still warm outside and was SOAKED! At a few feet from the ride there's a one hour free locker privileges while riding it to keep items from getting wet.

We went back to DL to wait for the 7:45pm Parade of Dreams which we sat near the Hat Shop at Main Street (start of the parade); while they waited for the parade to start I went nearby to this huge picture of "cast members" in black and white which is where four of the pictures from "Happiest Faces On Earth" is! I didn't care of the position of the pictures since it was very small and one of them you have to lie on the stomach for a view! The parade was GREAT and I took some pictures.

Back to DCA to wait for the Disney's Electrical Parade started at 8:45pm and sat near the parade start which is near the entrance; actually I tried to get pictures of them but came out BLURRY, but the parade was GREAT!

Back to DL to get a view of the "Remember Dreams Come True" Fireworks which started at 9:25pm; David insisted we walked over to the restricted area 20 feet from the entrance of Tomorrowland which I didn't think was a good idea instead of the really vacant spot. The fireworks were AWESOME and try and check it out!

Then we went to ride Star Tours which was a 25 min. wait which we sat in the back, and finally Astro Orbiter which was a 15 min wait and sat separate cars.

At 11:15pm, we went to the music store at main street to look for the 6-cd set of DL but they didn't had them in stock and suggest I call this phone number.

Then we left the park for home and David dropped Sarah and myself off at my place and went right to bed for the night!

Time went by fast and we had a great time! It was David's first time and Sarah's third time at DCA and they LOVED IT! David said DCA was better than he thought and hope to go again someday to see more. And BTW...wished I had upgraded to a So. Calif. AP when I went.

The weather was sunny and warm and crowded at time goes by that Saturday.
