It’s funny, my notes only take up a half a page, but by time I’m done typing in the details, it ends up
being a couple of pages.
I woke up around 07:30 or so, quickly got dressed and ran up to deck 10 just in time to see the ship pull
into Castaway Cay. It looked like it was going to be a nice day.
I bumped into Ev & Pat and the kids, and went to Parrot Cay for breakfast. Mom and Dad said they’d
meet us up there. We sat down and decided not to wait for them. By time we were done eating, they still
weren’t there and we were in a hurry to get to the island, so we left. On our way out, they were just
arriving so we told them we would meet them on the island. Normally, that would have been a dangerous
statement, as you can’t just “find someone” on the island. But we had our walkie talkies and that really
helped.
The kids and I went back to the room, got changed and happily went to the island. We took the tram to the
family beach and set off to stake out a spot. We found a spot near the first entrance and Ev and the
kids went off to the fort thingy in the water. After a few minutes, Ev came back to say there were plenty
of chairs closer to where they were playing and plenty of shade, too. That was important for Mom as she has
to avoid a lot of sun because of some of her medications. After we found a sunny spot for Pat with
a shady spot next to it for Mom, it got cloudy and cool. (WHINE) All I really wanted to do was get some
sun. It was too breezy and not enough sun for me to go swimming. In fact, there weren’t many people were
out there. It wouldn’t have been bad, but (WHINE) I just really wanted some sunshine!!
Mom and Dad showed up around 11:00. Everyone but me went wandering off in all directions at different
times. About lunch time the sun came out strong. It sure felt good. We went up to Cookies in groups and
brought lunch back to the beach. I had a Caesar Salad and found out what that “bite” was the other night –
onions. (YUCK!!) As each "group" finished lunch, they went back for ice cream for dessert. Josh went
twice ;)
Mom and Dad left at 12:30 because Mom had her alpha capsule at 14:30. Uhh??? Everett looks at me and say
– Mom’s becoming a real senior citizen. Has to leave 2 hours early to get back on time???? – LOL I laughed
because my treatment for the same thing was a half hour before hers and I wasn’t planning on leaving
until 13:30.
After they left, I sat in the sun (there's NO way I'm going back to Maine without a tan) and probably
snoozed a bit until 13:40. Then begrudgingly went back to the spa for my alpha capsule at 14:00. I
didn’t want to leave the sun. After freezing my hiney off all winter, I really enjoyed the sun. However,
the alpha capsule was nice too. If you have claustrophobia, they’ll let you climb in the first day
to try it out. That’s what Mom did. She walked in and we showed her where it was and she freaked – Oh
No, I can't do that!! Well, we made her get in and try it out and she actually liked it. So much so that
instead of booking one treatment, she booked three (one every day).
Anyway, when you arrive for your appointment, you’re given a questionnaire to fill out then the lady shows
you to the room they do aerobics in - though no one is in the room while you're in there. There’s this great
big giant egg thing. She asked about my questionnaire I told her I had been having some minor pain in my
knees so she gave me this oil to rub on my knees before the treatment. You climb in, they program the
aromatherapy, heat, vibrations to whatever she thinks is best for you. Then she puts on headphones and a
thing over your eyes. It was quite relaxing, and I hated it when the 25 minutes was over. I will
definitely plan on do it in 2005, but will go for the 50 minute treatments, instead. I don't know if it
gave me extra sleep that it says it’s supposed to, but I didn't take my nap today.
After my treatment, I stopped by Scoops and then went back to the room to pack. By time I finished packing,
it was time for the disembarkation talk. Did I learn anthing I hadn't read somewhere else? Probably not,
but the planner I am, I had to go. I know it’s on the TV later on, but for me, I have to do the official
thing. After the talk, I quickly went back to the room to encourage the kids to start packing and to get
ready for dinner.
Time just flew by. When we booked the cruise in October of 2002, I thought it’d be long enough, but as
I did research, I had a “heavy heart” that the 4-night was going to be way too short and I was right.
We had another great time at dinner – Parrot Cay (or parakeet if you say it fast enough). Gurkan and
Jo-Gail are wonderful. Every night we’ve had a wonderful dining experience and our family thought it
was because they work so well together. Seems like Gurkan had the fun of talking with us while Jo-Gail
did the cleaning. Every night Gurkan did something special with/for the kids. After the first night, we
always spent about 20 minutes after dessert just talking with him. Last night, by time we left, most of
the dining room was set up for the second seating.
Anyway, this night, he had made a fancy paper airplane for Nate and took him into the almost empty dining
room to fly it. At his other table, the little girl was a bit upset because he didn’t make her an
airplane. :D It was so cute watching him get down on her level and make the airplane to make her feel
better. On our way out, Mom let him know how talented he was. He thanked her and told her that tomorrow, he
was going to make an aircraft carrier. LOL
Anyway, Everett said that all the kids had to go to the show tonight. Josh wasn’t happy with that and
Rachel freaked out when her mom asked her not to change out of her nice clothes. Well, Rachel did
change and Josh did go to the show and enjoyed it, even though he pouted through the first part of it.
Disney Dreams was wonderful and that’s another I wouldn’t mind seeing again. We went back to the room
to finish packing and get all our suitcases outside our room by 23:00. I had put mine out around 22:15
and by time the kids put theirs out at 22:45, it was already gone. We cleaned up and watched some TV, then
it was time for bed. Looks like another midnight night. Don't know where the time goes, though. We
don't do anything!! LOL
My last thought before bed, I don't want to leave!!!!!
