Cast: me, Theresa, 41, fluffy & out of shape!, Nicole, 32, a Disney 1/2 marathoner and friend from school (we are teachers), Derek, my 16 yr. old son
Date: Jan. 14, 2007. We have FL resident seasonal passes.
We started the day shortly after 9 at AK in a misty rain--not what the
weatherman had promised at all. We got FP for Everest, but jumped in the single
rider line and literally walked onto the ride. Rain hurts when you ride
Everest! We then rode Dinosaur, saw Festival of Lion King, and decided to move
on to Epcot. On the way out, we gave our FP for Everest to someone else as they
weren't until early afternoon. We parked at Epcot, and hurried to get FP for
Soaring. Finally the sun has come out and it was hot and muggy. Why didn't I
wear shorts?
We tried out the non-spinning side of MS, had a pretzel break, then onto Ellen,
and the single rider line of TT. We walked all the way into the loading room
before stopping as they were having techn. diffic., but they were up and running
in about 10 min. We then decided to hit MGM so we walked (it seemed like a good
idea at the time!), through the Intl. Gateway, around Boardwalk and into MGM.
Took a quick detour through the DVC model--man that was nice!! Now if I could
just win the lottery so I could buy one!
At MGM, we were just in time to see the Stars & Cars parade, so we watched that. It was wonderful as always. They rushed to Tower of Terror, but wait time was 50 min., so they got FP. We rode Great Movie Ride with only about 10 min. wait. then went through the gift shop at end of Backlot Tour--my friend wanted a
Grey's Anatomy T-shirt she had seen there in Dec., and through the Star Tours
gift shop for my son. It was time for their FP, so they were in and out of
Tower of Terror in about 10 min. while I rested on a bench. I'm another Tower
of Terror weenie!! And I don't think Jud will be able to talk me into riding it
no matter what he promises! LOL! I opted for the bus to go back to Epcot, and
after a quick wait through 2 buses, we were on our way back to Epcot. Nicole
was willing to walk, but she is a runner and several years younger than me. I
told them to go ahead and I'd meet them in Epcot, but they both went on the bus
with me.
We headed back to Soaring. Wait time was like 85 min. Thank goodness for FP!. After Soaring, we took the monorail to MK. It was 6:40 when we came out. We
were trying to get there for Spectro at 7--and we did make that, but hunger, won
out. We jumped into the enormously long line at Casey's for food, Derek was
lucky enough to snag us a table, and we listened to the music of Spectro and saw
bits and pieces of it while we ate our hot dogs. We watched Wishes and
Tinkerbell's flight--it brings tears to my eyes! We pushed our way through the
sea of strollers and people to Pirates--10 min. wait. Over to BTMR, but wait
time was 50 min., so onto HM with only 10 min. wait. SM also had a 50 min.
wait, so we went on Carousel of Progress. The time was now 9:50 and the park
would close at 10. We slowly headed out to catch the monorail back to Epcot and
our cars. We had done it!! All 4 parks in one day! Nicole does this all the
time by herself, but this was a 1st for me! We arrived home about 12:15 a.m.
(We live about 85 miles away!) The parks were all moderately crowded, but by
using FP, a person should be able to see what they want in a park a day. We
always figure we'll be back, and what we don't see today, we'll see another time
and rarely even consider a line of longer than 15-20 min.
TODAY: I am sore and stiff, my feet & back hurt, and I may die!! LOL!! Whatever possessed me to think I can keep up with Nicole & Derek? BUT, in a few days I'll be ready for another trip back to the World--but maybe only 1 or 2
parks in a day next time!! LOL!
