Melody & Friends - June 2007

Who: Every year my DBF Patty and I take a trip to Disney World. This year her DD Kim (40) and her DGD Taylor (8) went with us for this past weekend.

You cannot do or see everything in a weekend, but this was one for characters and princesses. WE were to leave at 8:00, but I knew that would not happen. Finally we left our condo at 9:00 and drove to Mickey D's for breakfast. The car was loaded with snacks and diet coke for a day of driving.(We pack way too much.) We arrived at Disney 1 1/2 hours later. We stayed at the Dolphin. At this time it is our favorite hotel because of transportation and restaurants. WE were checked in and ready to leave our room by 12:00. We were to have an upgraded room because of the view, but it was not as great as some other years. The rooms are nice and we had enough room for the 4 of us.

WE took a bus and headed to MK for the day. WE went through the stores at Main Street and headed to Casey's for a hot dog. We found a seat outside and decided we do not like this, my DM does. WE like to eat at Cosmic Ray's! After lunch we watched the "Dream Along With Mickey Show". It was very hot during the show. From there we headed to Adventureland and the POTC. It was only a 20 minute wait, not too bad. It was then time for the 3:00 Parade and we hurried back to the Castle to watch it.

We then went to Tomorrowland and Monsters. I loved the new show and will go to see it again. From there we went to Carousel of Progress, TTA, and Stitch. I did not like Alien, and I did not like Stitch - will not ride it again!

We then headed to the Poly for our ressie ot Kona. We had the steak and all thought it was yummy. Will go there again. Back to MK and got our wrist band for extra hours. Went through the stores again on the way to Wishes and the Parade. After wishes we finally went to Fantasyland where we hit Snow White, Peter Pan, Mickey" PhilharMagic, it's a small world, Carrousel, and the Teacups.

WE waited in line forever for autographs. The longest we had to wait anywhere was 30 minutes. As we were leaving at 1:30, it was becoming more crowded. we went back to the Dolphin and went to bed at 3.

After waiting in the line to see Mickey, I was pushed aside and did not get to stand by him for the picture. I am sure he felt sorry because he held my hand!
