Leilani & Family - March 2007

Cast Of Characters: Myself, Miranda (DD13) & Laken (DD7)
Days 1 and 2: Friday, March 16 & Saturday, March 17th

We left KC early around 6:40 am and spent the whole day traveling by car. Through MO, IL, KY, TN and into GA. We arrived in Dalton, GA about 9:15 pm. About 13.5 hours on the road, minus stops & one missed exit. Not too bad. The girls were great in the car and it really was just a lovely, albeit, long drive. We took sandwiches & fruit for lunch and grabbed a quick dinner at Hardees somewhere along the way. We stayed in a Days Inn at exit #333. The room was clean and the hotel nice enough. Honestly, we weren’t doing anything but sleeping here.

We left Dalton early, again, around 6:30 am (after grabbing a quick free continental breakfast). Again, we had lunch that we brought with us. We arrived at All Star Music at 3:30 – after two wrong turns – lol. We’re so happy to be here! :-( We got no “Welcome Home” from the security gate or from check-in. Check-in only took 10 minutes. We were put in Broadway room #8436. It was a bit of a hike to the main building but we always got a nice close parking space to our room. Our room faced a pretty little garden area.

I presented the girls with our tiaras, we all put them on and, with big smiles, headed to DTD. By the time we unloaded the car & settled into the room it was 4:50 when we headed for a bus to DTD. Bus was only a 10 minute wait and we were on our way to meet Barb – it was a 20 minute ride to DTD with no other stops. We met at the Earl of Sandwich – which was a delicious sandwich! – and did some shopping at Mickey’s Mart. The girls and I are putting together a small package for DH as he will be joining us later this week. We had planned to arrive DTD a little earlier & do more shopping – but no time now – the Kingdom awaits!

Barb drove us to MK and we took the monorail in from the Transportation Center. We headed for Liberty Square to get seats in front of the Hall of Presidents for SpectroMagic Parade. It was a great spot and Pluto came over & gave DD7 a kiss and Ursula seemed to pick DD13 out as someone she was going to “get”. We had forgotten our jackets but DD7 was the only one truly cold and Barb loaned her jacket :-). We got to see Barb, great CM in action, spread pixie dust by replacing a broken toy for a family nearby. Then she spread the magic our way and got us VIP viewing for Wishes! We got to see Wishes from the deck at the Astro Orbitor! It was an outstanding view – but, as Barb says, you don’t want first timers to see Wishes from this spot. Then we let the girls get in line for the ride and then were ready to head back to the room. I’m surprised DD7 made it this long. Barb offered us a ride back to ALMusic, despite the late hour & she had to work the next day, which we gladly accepted. We were back & in bed around 11 pm. Long, wonderful day.

High Point: We’re here & meeting Barb
Low Point: not much – wanted to get more shopping done at DTD – but not a big deal

Tomorrow: Magic Kingdom
