Danielle & Family - May 2007

Trip Report - May 1-8, 2007
Who: Danielle(mom) Paulo(dad) Nakyah(our 6 yr old daughter) Desmon(our 3 yr old son)

Day 1 - May 1, 2007

I actually worked this day. We flew out of TF Green in RI. Our airline was Southwest. Our flight was to leave at 7:35pm and land at 10:30pm. Our flight was uneventful, but landed at 10:00pm instead.

We took Magical Express to our hotel which was All Star Music. I did not get too excited about our room because I was told they were really small and that they were not kept up that great. When arriving the kids loved the big icons and loved the room. We had the mickey shaped towel left on our bed.

We did not actually get to our room until about 12:30am so I put the kids to bed which was not easy they were so excited. I set up our wake up call for morning and got our things ready so we could head out to Epcot first thing.

Day 2 - May 2, 2007

We have put our kids on a budget of $10 a day and $40 when we go to downtown disney. This worked very well with our kids. We woke up to the phone ringing with Mickey on the other end. My daughter was so surprised. She is at the age where she is starting to not believe in the characters, she is unsure as she puts it. We got to the bus stop for 8am. We packed one small backpack with water, snacks, autograph books, sharpies, ponchos, cameras, gum, wallet, fans, lights, a small towel, and my itenerary. We got to Epcot at 8:30. The gates opened at 9am. We got in around 9:05am. I hap planned our trip so that we would go the parks when it was there slowest days and we would not be taking advantage of the emh because of how busy they were.

I love Epcot. When we walked in the recycling team was there and played a game with the kids and gave them each a certificate. We then headed to Test Track. My 3 yr old was looking forward to this. We measured him at home, he was 39 3/4 in. The cast member literally ran apiece of paper over his head and said he was too short. He was so upset. Paul wanted to go on (he is like a big kid) I agreed to take the kids while he did that. We went over to the jumping fountains and got a little wet. Ten minutes later Paul was back (no line).

We went to character connection next again no line. The kids met Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Goofy, and Pluto. We stopped at Club Cool to try the different drinks. We hit Journey into the imagination next no line. The kids enjoyed it. Honey I shrunk the audience it right next to it. We had to wait 15 min for the next show. We all thought it was great except for my son who like everything except for the 3d effect. There was a part that terrified him. For the rest of the trip he held onto his 3d glasses and would only put them on when he wanted.

We then went to the land and got fast passes for soarin because there was a 30 minute wait. We ate lunch at sunshine seasons which was really good, wide variety. I should mention we are on the dining plan. We did the rider swap for soarin, my son could not go on. We took the kids to particcpate in the jr chef. They got chef hats with their name on it. They also got 2 cookies each.

We then went to the seas. Nemo and friends was great we had a 5 minute wait. Turtle talk with crush was next and very cute and funny. We took many pics. There were so many beautiful things.

We went to Innovations. We spent about an hour there. The kids got to build a robot. It was calmer, cool, and educational. We paricpated in a family game of the Great American Pizza. Our team lost, but it was fun.

We had dinner reservations for 4:45 at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway. We stopped at the butterfly house on the way. We also stopped in Mexico which is right next to Norway to try the new gran fiesta tour, we really liked it. We got to the restaurant at 4:20 and checked in. We were called in at 4:40pm. We took a family pic with Aurora before we were seated. Jasmine, Belle, Cinderella, and Ariel all visited our table for autographs and photos. My son got to race Ariel in the restaurant. The food was really good and the environment was real nice.

We left the reataurant at 6 and rushed over to Ellens Energy. This was a great show very detailed. We decided to walk the world showcase. The kids got tattoos of Mickey and Tinkerbell. We watched the Return of the British Invasion. They were excellent.

Our plan was to stay to see Fantasmi, but for some reson we decided to come back another night and head back to our hotel. We got to the hotel around 10pm. I set the wake up call, we packed stuff for the next day, got ready for bed and watched some disney infommercials. It was a great first day.
