Amy & Family - June 2007

Who: There were 16 of us traveling, myself amy 33, DH Joey, 31, DD Hannah 7, DS Noah 3, BIL Jason 27, SIL Tara, 25, D niece Alexis 6, D Nephwe Hunter 3, Aunt, Kathy, Uncle Dennis, thier DD Katelyn 12, Cousin and wife Jeremy and Tamara, my SIL's Aunt Lynn and Uncle William and thier DD Victoria 12.

Pre Trip Report:

I have made all the plans for this trip for everyone. This was a first trip for everyone except me(whose first trip was only a few hours in MK and one day in epcot in 1992) and my SIL.

We started by leaving a day early for the airport which was about two hours away from us. We live in AR and were flying out of Memphis, so instead of having to get up at the crack of dawn we decided to stay at an on airport hotel. We stayed at the radisson. We arrived a little late due to a wrong turn (which is why we flew LOL!) , but got checked in and settled in to our room (which had a great view of the planes taking off. cool for the kids not so cool for me! Never flown and very scared). Had already started to take around 100 of what would be 1959 pics of our trip. I told you guys I was excited. We got to sleep around 10:30 or 11:00 and believe it or not had a restfull nights sleep.

Day 1 - : Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

Ok it is finally here!!! I've been planning for over a year and it's finally here. One thing that I must say before I go any further is that I did have help from Laura from TMFL and she was great!!! Now, on to the show.

We awoke around 6am. Got everyone up and ready by 7am and we all were down in the lobby to catch the hotel shuttle to the airport. We already had our boarding passes so we checked our luggage and got through security very easily and fairly quickly. We then went and got some breakfast and then on to our gate to wait for our flight. The kids were really excited about flying, wish I was.LOL! Everyone but me and all the kids had flown before, so I was trying not to be terribly nervous. We boarded and it seemed forever before we took off, but everything went very well and my kids now never want to drive anywhere else. Landed smoothly and one interesting thing was that when we had stopped and got up to the doorway tunnel thing? The flight attendant came overhead and said to please stay seated and they would tell us when we could leave. Soon after that an orlando police officer boarded and arrested a lady in the back!!! We never found out what she was arrested for so who knows??

Any way flight landed around 12:40. We got to the ME desk and on to the red carpet (I thought that was a nice touch) and to our line for all stars movies! We waited around 15 min for a bus and were soon on our way and watching the neat movie on the bus. How exciting!!!!

Got to ASMo and check-in was smooth and as luck would have it our room was ready. It was now around 2:30. We were in the Mighty ducks section, 2nd building, third floor.

After a quick drop off of our carry-ons we were in line for the MK bus. One pulled up just about as soon as we got there. It was the start of great disney magic for the week!!! Now I must say my main objective for today was to see the 3:00 parade. Well seeing as it was around 3:10 when we were in line for the bus to MK I had given up on that. We walked in the park at exactly 3:45 and as we walked under the train station my SIL gasped and said look there's Mickey and I hurried up there only to see Mickey on his float and the beginning of the parade!!!!! I could not believe it! We ended up getting up on the curb because of some really great ladies whe could obviously tell by my SIL and I's tears of joy that this was our first time to see the parade, and said to us get up here we've seen this more times than we can count. It was wonderful!!!! True Disney Magic at its finest and not from cast members, but average people like you and me.

After the parade we just walked around for about an hour and took everything in and then it was time for dinner at Chef Mickey's!! We hopped on the monorail just as it began to rain. (magic) We had an awesome meal ( by the way my family and my BIL-SIL were all on the dinning plan great money saver!!) Our dinner was around $110.00 (in all the excitement I didn't notice my reciept had $00.0 the rest I tried to write down) We had a great dinner and great interaction with all the characters. Great fun!

Then back to MK. It was still drizzling some and of course I did pack ponchos, but in my checked luggage!! So needless to say we got a little wet, but with the rain came short lines!!! We had fast passed Space mtn before dinner, but we went first to adventure land and on to POTC first!! great ride and is still my DS 3 favorite ride!! then to aladdins carpets no wait!! and the tiki room probably my DS 2nd fave! who knew? then to Space Mtn!!! My DD 7 had never ridden a roller coster before so I was a little worried she would freak out, but I just sent her in with DH, sink or swim right? She came our screaming "That was the coolest ride ever!!!" I was so glad!! She then rode with me! Gotta love child swap!! (SD couldn't ride) Then off to buzz with about a 15 min wait! not bad! then we realized that we needed to be in a spot to see spectro if we were going to watch it. Too late!! So we instead rode Tea cups, winnie the pooh, and dumbo!! It was great then we got in a great spot for wishes.

Then the rain came again. So we retreated to the covered area in the rose garden and watched it from there. A few trees in the way, but still a great show!! By then the wind was blowing and we were pretty much wet so we were almost frozen or so we thought. When wishes was over we joined the stampede out of main street through the pouring rain!! I did the through the shops down main street trying to avoid some of the rain, but to no avail we ended up getting absoultly drenched by the time we got to the bus stop, but we were in disney world and it was wonderful!!!!

I think I got to bed around midnight. (trying to at least get out tomorrow's clothes from the suitcase that magically appeared in our room thanks ME!)Time for some shut eye!! Sorry this seems long if your still reading Thanks!!
