Who: Shoup

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern

When: Sept 4, 20009

What: lunch
Roast beef and cheddar sandwich and chicken ceasar wrap.

Approximate Price of Entrees: $5 - $6

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 2
Service: 2
Atmosphere: 2
Okay for Children: Ok for children, extremely noisy
Okay for Couples: Too noisy for couples, go somewhere more quiet
Be Sure to Try: Go somewhere else the food here was not good.

General tips: The counter service is really slow and atmosphere is not that great and it's very noisy.

Extra Comments: This was by far the worst meal I had in Disney World. My sandwich was barely warm and looked like it had been sitting under heat lamps for quite awhile. The chicken wrap was a big wad of chicken and the wrap fell apart.

Who: Ziemba

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern

When: 6/29/09

What: Dinner: We had the beef, pork, turkey family style dinner.

Approximate Price of Entrees: $350 for 6 adults and 4 children

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 1
Service: 1
Atmosphere: 1
Okay for Children: Kids froze
Okay for Couples: Adults froze
Be Sure to Try: The dinner rolls and the apple cobbler

General tips: We were seated under an air conditioning vent that not only made us uncomfortably cold, but also caused the food to be cold before we could even get the first bite in our mouths. When we complained, they said they knew there was a problem! The food would probably have been good if we could have enjoyed it.

TheMouseForLess tips: Be sure you are comfortable with the temperature before being served.

Extra Comments: This was the worst meal we had during our 8-day stay! Complaining about our seating didn't get us anywhere. Certainly not Disney's finest hour. If I were you, I'd skip this one.

Who: Holden

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern

When: 02/09

What: Dinner: traditional dinner served family style (turkey, ham, pork, potatoes, rolls, green beans, apple cobbler)

Approximate Price of Entrees: $100 for a family of 3

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 3
Atmosphere: 4
Okay for Children: Yes.
Okay for Couples: Yes.
Be Sure to Try: The dinner rolls and the apple cobbler

General tips: Make a reservation otherwise enjoy. The menu is set, all you can eat, and is brought right to the table.

TheMouseForLess tips: It is all you can eat

Extra Comments: The service was kind of slow, but otherwise the food was excellent.

Who: Riconda Family

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern (MK) Goofy's liberate your appetite

When: 7/20/2008

What: We ate dinner there and had mashed potatoes, yummy rolls, ham, roast beef, turkey, mac and cheese, string beans, we all drank lemonade and we had apple cobbler for desert.

Approximate Price of Entrees: We paid $114.95 plus 22.99 for the tip.

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 5
Atmosphere: 4
Okay for Children: Yes, but if they characters are on the other side of the restaurant you can't see them until they come around. They got to see all the characters twice, except for Chip n' Dale.
Okay for Couples: Yes, it is pretty quiet if you just want to eat and enjoy your food.
Be Sure to Try: I am weird I loved the rolls they tasted slightly sweet but yummy!! My husband loved the roast beef and he is very picky.

General tips: We had reservations for 5:25pm and had to wait a good 20 to 30 minutes to be seated, not a problem, but there is no where to sit unless you go outside.

TheMouseForLess tips: Can't think of any

Extra Comments: Lack of seating in the waiting area.

Who: Land family

Where: Liberty tree tavern in Magic Kingdom

When: Thursday October 5th, 2006

What: Dinner family style for 2 adults and 2 children. Dinner included salad, mac and cheese, turkey and gravy, (there was another meat--roast or ham) potatoes, green beans, banana pudding--other things were included but I don't remember

Approximate Price of Entrees: The total for 2 adults and 2 children was 102.04 with tip and tax included.

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 4
Service: 5
Atmosphere: 3-4
Okay for Children: yes. My girls loved this!! The atmosphere was nothing special but my girls loved the character interaction. (Chip and Dip--what my youngest calls them--were my girls favorite). Each character spent lots of time at our table.
Okay for Couples: yes
Be Sure to Try: The Banana pudding was great and they served the best sweet tea of anywhere that we ate (or drank)

General tips: Our ressies were at 4:30--it was MNSSHP night--we waited a couple of minutes and were seated.

TheMouseForLess tips: Nothing that I can think of.

Extra Comments: We really enjoyed this restaurant, I would recommend it to anyone.

Who: Linda and DH

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern

When: Wednesday, August 2, 2006, 11:30am

What: Lunch. DH had the pasta with chicken; I had my usual Colony Salad and for a new twist I ordered clam chowder. (It was cold in there despite it being well into the 90's in the park).

Approximate Price of Entrees: Soup - $3.99, Iced Tea - $2.19, Pasta- $13.99, Colony Salad-$12.19. Total with tax (no tip): $34.46. I used my DDE discount card (passholder perk) and adjusted total was $27.58. Gave $6 for the tip. (I had to ask her for rolls).

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 4.5 (I didn't like the pasta, but I didn't have to eat it!)
Service: 4.5
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: You bet. Its in the Magic Kingdom.
Okay for Couples: Yes. There are lots of tables for two in this restaurant.
Be Sure to Try: I always eat the Colony Salad for lunch at LTT (its a tradition for me). DH usually has the turkey dinner but this time it was the William Penn Pasta. He said it was fine, but I found the sauce to be a bit heavy and bacon-y for the very hot August day. (It was in the mid 90's).

General tips: Get the first lunch seating at LTT as service will be really quick as the place is filling up. I really like this restaurant as there is ample room to move around when you leave, and not bump into other diners.

TheMouseForLess tips: This is a table service location, and on the dining plan you want to use it for the character dinner (there are NO CHARACTERS for lunch). But if you're paying out of pocket the LTT is a great place to have your main meal of the day. There is enough on the menu to please everyone. Make a reservation though to ensure your space; as the day goes on and gets hotter, walk-ups escaping the heat are difficult to accommodate during busy times.

Who: The Stermels

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern, Liberty Square, Magic Kingdom

When: 02/04/06

What: Dinner Character Meal

Approximate Price of Entrees: $27.99 adult, $12.99 child..we used Dining Plan

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 5
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: The kids always seem to love this place
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: Salad with Styrwaberyy vinaigrett dressing, cherry cobbler dessert

General tips: Make sure to go in hungry, you get LOTS of delicious filling food.

TheMouseForLess tips: The Dining plan saved us quite a few bucks once again over what the meal would have cost had we paid cash.

Extra Comments: The character interaction is excellent and the food is very good. It's becoming a Stermel tradition to have our last big meal at the Liberty Tree Tavern.

Who: Jensen Family (Me (29), DSis (31) DMom (66), DDad (64)

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern

When: 12/6/05

What: Dinner (Character Meal) - Salad, Roast Beef, Ham, Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing, Green Beans, Macaroni & Cheese, Cherry Cobbler

Approximate Price of Entrees: $24.99/person

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 4
Service: 4
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Yes - They'll have a great time with the characters here!
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: The strawberry vinaigrette dressing - I wish I had asked for the recipe!

General tips: We were seated in a little room towards the back of the restaurant. It was great when the characters came in, since there were only about 6 tables in there.

TheMouseForLess tips: This is served family style, but is an all you can eat meal. You can order seconds of everything, or just the items that you liked best.

Extra Comments: We're a group of 4 adults, but had such a great time at this meal! We went right before MVMCP, and really got some of our best pictures with the characters here. I would highly recommend going, even if you don't have children with you.

Who: Myers Family, Me(27), DH(28), DS(4), DS(1), Babysitter(23)

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern in MK

When: December 2005

What: Dinner served Family style (all you can eat)

Approximate Price of Entrees: 3 Adults @ $27.99, 1 child @ $12.99

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 4
Atmosphere: 4
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: The Macaroni and Cheese

General tips: Make ADR's

TheMouseForLess tips: Good Dinner to get your moneys worth on the dining plan

Extra Comments: The food was very good, we felt a little rushed with a couple of the characters

Who: 2 families and 1 couple, Mic and Jeff, Pam, Steve and Hanna, Deb, Rick and Kayla

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern

When: October 2005

What: Character Dinner, served family style, included mixed greens salad with a vingerette dressing, ham, turkey, mashed potatos, gravy, green beans with I think slivered almonds, stuffing and mac 'n' cheese, and a yummy desert cherry cobbler and cinnamon ice cream, milk, soda, ice tea and coffee to drink.

Approximate Price of Entrees: Adults - $22.99, Little Patriots (ages 3-11) - $10.99

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5+ (there was at least 1 thing that everyone loved, my favorites where the green beans, the salad and the desert)
Service: 5
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: the desert

General tips: We had an ADR prior to MNSSHP, originally Deb had it for 6, but they were able to change it to 8 to include us. This was a great way to start off our evening of halloween fun, the characters were all in costume and nice and playful.

TheMouseForLess tips: Save your appetite for lots of food

Who: Angela G. and family Angela, Allan(dh), William(ds)

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern

When: 10/6/2005

What: Dinner 4:20pm so we didn't miss our time at MNSSHP--Family style 2 adult dinners and one child dinner no breakdown only total.

Approximate Price of Entrees: total 91.10 with tax and tip

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 5
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Our son loved the characters and the extra interaction they gave here. We went during the Halloween party so the characters were in costume which was extra special.
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: The potato's were great as well as the dessert. The meats were good but the beef was a little dry. I liked it because it reminded me of beef jerky.

General tips: Enjoy the characters this restaurant had one of the best interactions with the characters. They really took their time to not only take pictures and interact with our sons as well as us adults. They spent extra time to interact with our son every time they walked past our table. The food here was great and one of our favorites. Typical American feast.

TheMouseForLess tips: You can eat as much as you want so ask for seconds of anything you need.

Extra Comments: This tied for our favorite dinner this trip along with Ohana's for both atmosphere and food.

Okay for Children: yes- mine love this one!
Okay for Couples: yes- there were many "couples-only" there
Be Sure to Try: The flank steak and the macaroni and cheese

General tips: We had an ADR for 5:30 before it got too late

TheMouseForLess tips: we used our DDE card here!

Extra Comments: This is a wonderful place for dinner! We were leaving and our daughter realized her eyes were closed on her digital picture she had taken with Minnie and she became upset as this is her "favorite character"! The waiter was so nice! He went and got Minnie so we could take another picture!

Who: The Waite Family Ð Mary and Bob

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern

When: May 25, 2005

What: Two Adult Dinners (Pre-Determined Menu Ð Served Family Style)

Approximate Price of Entrees: Dinners -- $23.99 Each and included beverages. Total Price with Tax was $49.23. With the Disney Dining Experience card, we were able to save $10.05 on this meal.

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 3

Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: Maybe - see below
Be Sure to Try: The rolls.

General tips: Dinner is a character meal and throughout our meal, we were visited by Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale, and Minnie. Some of the characters came by more than once.

TheMouseForLess tips: If you have a DDE card Ð use it.

Extra Comments: We had a Priority Seating (PS) for 8:35. We were about 40minutes early, but the Cast Member checked us in and handed me a beeper and told us to go inside and wait. We found a place to sit down which was very difficult as the waiting area was very crowded. We waited and waited and waited. We saw several groups that came in after us being called and seated Ð large groups even. I checked and was told 10 more minutes on two separate occasions. We were a party of two and as I later came to find out, there are very few parties of two that come to dine at the Liberty Tree Tavern. Also, it doesnÕt pay to be early for a PS Ð at least it sure didnÕt for us as we were not called to be seated until nearly 8:45. We were seated at a very small table for two against the wall. We were seated for nearly 15 minutes before we were even approached by our server who said he would be right with us. At that point, we probably should have gotten up and walked out. After five more minutes, Raymond came to take our drink orders. He did tell us that he was having problems with the computer which, in my opinion, was not a good enough excuse to let us sit at our table for so long without even coming by to greet us or have someone else greet us. He finally came back with our drinks and then told us he would be back with our salad. The character dinner at LTT is the same for everyone. Why he didnÕt bring the salad with our drinks is really strange because all he did was make more work for himself. I saw the other servers bring salad with the other guestsÕ beverages. The salad dressing was quite tasty and the rolls with honey butter were very good. Spectromagic was starting at 9:00 and had made its way outside the LTT around 9:15 and I could make out some of the floats through the Òhand-madeÓ panes of glass in the windows. Our table was so small that when Raymond brought out our ÒplatterÓ of turkey and ham and beef, Bob and I each had nearly one-third of our plates hanging off the edge of the table. It is truly a miracle that we did not end up with them on our laps. I have to say that the Mashed Potatoes was the best part of this meal besides the rolls. The beef was horribly dry and the ham was less than desirable. The turkey was okay, but not what I had imagined. It was more of a turkey roll turkey breast. After having the great green beans at the Tusker House, these were barely edible. I have to say that Raymond was one of the worst servers I have ever encountered at WDW. I could have probably died of thirst before he finally brought me a refill on my Diet Coke. When he finally returned to clear away our main dish plates and bowls, he told us that the cobbler for that night was Cherry. When Raymond finally brought our check to us at 10:00 and not only was I disappointed in our meal, the service we had received and the horrible table we had been seated at, I had to miss the beginning of Wishes and Bob was really upset at that point. If nothing else, I have learned to tell all the servers that we have dealt with that I have a Disney Dining Experience (DDE) card from the very beginning so we donÕt have to deal with a receipt being run twice. We were able to use the DDE card at the LTT and did receive a discount of $10.05 on our meals.

After we were seated, there were two other couples seated in our area and neither one of these couples had to deal with being seated at such a small table. I honestly doubt that I will ever be able to get Bob to dine her again. If I were to dine here again, I would have to make a PS for a party of at least 3 and I hate to lie about my party size, but it was truly ridiculous that we were seated at such a small table and had to wait so long for a table for two.

Who: Skamarakas (Jim, Anna, Brighid age 12, and Eilis age 3)

Where: Liberty Tree Tavern

When: April 15, 2004

What: dinner

Approximate Price of Entrees: 3 Adult dinners were $65.97 and one kids dinner was $9.99

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5+++
Service: 5
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Absolutely - this character dinner is very popular with our girls
Okay for Couples: Yes, although not terribly quiet or romantic
Be Sure to Try: flank steak and mashed potatoes - and delicious strawberry viniagrette dressing

General tips: It is usually quieter here if you can get an early PS for dinner, and that gives you extra time with the characters. It's also good if you want to skip lunch, as you will never walk away from this meal hungry!

Dollarless tips: he food is all you can eat, served family style. Definitely use this as your big meal of the day and save room for it! There is a lot of food, and there are quite a few starches (stuffing, potatoes and macaroni and cheese), so you'll fill up quickly. Eat a late breakfast and skip lunch, or just eat very lightly at lunch time and enjoy this meal.

Extra Comments: This is one of our favorite dinner places at Disney World. The food is plentiful, very good, and there is always great character interaction. We also never feel rushed here. We've had meals here last as long as 2 hours when we've traveled with other people - we just sit and talk and it's a nice time.

They used to not include dessert with your meal, which allowed you to choose from the menu. They now include dessert - which was a little disappointing to my oldest daughter, who was drooling for the caramel pound cake they used to have. The dessert we were served, however, (apple cobbler) was really delicious - and they gave us so much, we ended up leaving a pretty good portion.
