1/2 Starboard Deck (Ham, broccoli slaw, tomatoes, cheese) and Jen ordered
1/2 Anchors Aweigh (Tuna) and we both ordered the NE clam chowder. $6.69

Be Sure to Try: All of it was really really good!
General tips: We hadn't had breakfast and wanted a light lunch so we waited
until 10:30 when it opened and went in, thinking no one would be there!
While it was relatively empty, they were still just getting the cash
registers and everything open, so there was some confusion. But there were
plenty of tables, downstairs and upstairs, so no worries about finding a
seat this early. This being our first time I couldn't tell you if the food
is better this early, but everything was SO fresh!
TheMouseForLess tips: This meal was a great, fulfilling meal. We weren't
stuffed, but the 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup were more than satisfying. If
you're looking for a meal other than standard burger and fries we totally
recommend this place and it will now be on our list for every visit.
Extra Comments: We are not NE Clam chowder connoisseurs in any way,
although Jen is pretty picky. This was really very, very good! Creamy and
tasty...nice amounts of clams (NOT the most tender clams I've ever had but
definitely NOT chewy). We've only been home a few weeks but I've craved
this meal ever since! Aside from the great food, we saw something that
we'd never experienced before. Apparently a family of three was the first
in line for the day and they received a certificate, got their picture
taken with a server and also received a "front of the line" pass for any
attraction that day, to be used once....pretty cool we thought!

Okay for Couples: yes
Be Sure to Try: DH said the fish was better than Harry Ramsdens in UK
(EPCOT) and that's a HUGE compliment from my fried fish expert LOL But
he wasn't so keen on the apple pie. He had forgotten that US recipes
add cinnamon (this pie was very strong) and he isn't keen.
General tips: We ate for Brunch 11.04am. The place was more or less
deserted and we were able to pick a table in a corner which was
lovely.
TheMouseForLess tips: Having had no breakfast and lots of exercise and
fresh air we were really hungry and managed to eat it all but felt
very full afterwards. Another time we could have shared one entrŽe.

Be Sure to Try: I really love the chicken fingers here.
General tips: I know this has been said many times, but definitely sit in
the upstairs dining room. It's much less crowded, and much more peaceful.
TheMouseForLess tips: Split the sodas here, they're too much for one person.
Extra Comments: We all really love the Columbia Harbour House for the combo
baskets, and eat here at least once on every trip.

Food: 4
Service: 3--We had to wait a long time for our food, and they were not that busy.
Atmosphere: 4
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: I enjoyed my salad. It had plenty of chicken in it, as well as a few surprises like pineapple bits and pecans. Dh liked his fish.
General tips: We sat downstairs, but there is a dining room upstairs that you can use. It's supposed to be nicer and quieter up there.
TheMouseForLess tips: The chocolate milks are large. They come in Nestle bottles. Sometimes you can ask for 2 cups and have your kids share one milk.
Extra Comments: This is a nice place to take refuge if the park is getting hot and crowded.
Who: Cunning/DeGroof family: Eve, Steve (DH), and John (DS1, 6yo)
Where: Columbia Harbor House
When: 1/28/04
What: lunch: chicken strips and fries, fried fish and fries, one
large? soda
Approximate Price of Entrees: ~$16.00

Food: very good for this kind of thing, not fast-foody at all!
And they have malt vinegar, a necessity with fish and chips.
Service: 4 -- they really can't be very chatty, but service is quick!
Atmosphere: 5 -- nicely decorated, pretty view out the windows,
surprisingly cozy for counter service
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: Sit upstairs. Nice quiet dining room, pretty view. We
went during off hours in the off season, and there was hardly anyone
up there at all. Also, nice and warm up there with the sunshine--good
on a cold day!
General tips: We got a chicken strips meal w/fries and a fried fish
meal w/fries, and then fed John from that rather than getting a kid's
meal. Also, we split one drink, which always saves a good bit--John
hardly touches his drinks, and Steve and I can easily share one.
Dollarless tips:
Extra Comments: DDL/MFL comments led me here, and I was sure glad!
Nice place!
