Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 1
Atmosphere:
Okay for Children: Yes-it is OK but this restaurant comes across with an adult setting.
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: the sauteed shrimp appetizer was wonderful. Also, my daughter ate every last morsel of her meal and I can't remember the last time that happened
General tips: this restaurant has a dress code to the extent of no tank tops or jean shorts for men. When I made the ressie that is what they said in addition to "casual"
Dollarless tips: There really isn't too much that is dollarless although the portions were large.
Extra Comments: OK - here we go. We were seated almost immediately and our server was Aswini who was an older gentlemen. I only say that because he seemed like he had a lot of experience when he first seated us and we are used to having servers who are usually between 25 and 50. He appeared to be close to 60 - this was by looks only. He came over right away to get our drink orders. Everyone ordered soda with the exception of Kristin and I. We each got a Bellini cocktail. He brought our drinks and asked us if we would like to order a bottle of wine. We declined and this is where things fell apart. He didn't come back to take our order for another 30 minutes. There were people who came in after us and ordered and received their appetizers before he even took our order, but they had also ordered wine. He must have felt that our bill wasn't going to be that large in his opinion and the service from then on was terrible. We had checked in at 7:15 p.m., did not get dessert and he never rang us out until 9:15 p.m. We each gave him our room cards which he brought back our right cards and our right bill, but when we went to check out at the end of our trips, he had their bill on our card and ours on theirs. I must add that this was the only time on our entire trip we had bad service and therefore we only gave him about a 9% tip (we usually tip 18-25%) I may consider writing a letter. Kristin is writing a letter since she is the one that is so sure we got the bad service because we did not have a large alcohol bill. She is an executive chef and has worked at some of the better restaurants in Philadelphia and has unfortunately seen this happen before.
