Okay for Children: Yes! Mama Melrose's is family friendly, though it's not as overly loud as other restaurants that are good for kids at WDW.
Okay for Couples: Certainly! The atmosphere is nice and relaxing.
Be Sure to Try: The tiramisu is outstanding!! The Ceasar salad was pretty good, too.
General tips: I noticed that they are not offering free bread baskets. If you want bread to go with your pasta, consider ordering the artisan breads as your appetizer.
TheMouseForLess tips: Portions are pretty big. If you're not doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package, you could most likely share an entree.
Extra Comments: This was the third time we ate at Mama Melrose's and it did not disappoint! The food was good and the service was prompt.

Be Sure to Try: We all enjoyed all the food here, especially the
desserts. Nice wine list.
General tips: Seemed very busy; they were turning people away, so
make an ADR.
TheMouseForLess tips: Disney Dining Experience card Ð saved 20% ($25.91)
Extra Comments: We had a 4:50 ADR, had a really nice meal, and
then walked out in time to see the Osborne Lights. It was magical,
really, especially since it was our first night in one of the parks.
We had time to enjoy the lights and then walked over to Fantasmic. A
great evening!

Be Sure to Try: We liked all of our food! The tiramisu was so good! I also liked the chicken parmesan.
General tips: We ate here early (3:30) and it was not crowded at all.
TheMouseForLess tips: This is a pricey meal, but it's nice to have the Fantasmic Package. It's a good alternative to the more pricey Brown Derby and it's more relaxing than doing the buffet at Hollywood & Vine.
Extra Comments: Our server was great! She paced our meal very nicely. The atmosphere of Mama Melrose's is nice and relaxing. I'd eat here again without hesitation.

Okay for Children: Yes, while not a character meal, the wait staff
seems to dote on children
Okay for Couples: Yes, the homey atmosphere makes for a quiet
respite from the park
Be Sure to Try: Pepperoni flatbread, Penne a la Vodka
General tips: The restaurant is at the extreme northwest edge of the
park, we had to hustle to get to Fantasmic on time.
TheMouseForLess tips: The Dining plan saved us quite a few dollars at
this restaurant
Extra Comments: Our waiter was excellent, always nearby without "hovering". The food was better than expected (we live in South Philly, which is loaded with great Italian restaurants!). I would definitely return.
Who: The Fairfields (me-46, dh-52, dd-8)

Okay for Children: Yes - dd loves the attention she always gets from the servers
Okay for Couples: Yes - especially if you can get a quieter area of the restaurant
Be Sure to Try: the tiramasu is wonderful
General tips: because of Fantasmic and the earlier closing time for this restaurant, dinner seating times are limited - make ADRs early
TheMouseForLess tips: DDE is not accepted when doing the Fantasmic dinner package but they do accept the DDP. If you have to cancel ADRs, do it as early as possible because you will be charged a $10 cancellation fee if you cancel within 48 hours. You will need to use a credit card to hold your ADR.
Extra Comments: We do this one every trip!

Be Sure to Try: *I* like the flatbread a lot! MIL loves the tiramisu.
General tips: If you make an ADR for the Fantasmic dinner package, know
ahead of time there is a special menu with limited choices. Also, if Fantasmic
is rained out (as it was that night!) you're out of luck - there are no
"refunds" or tickets to come back another time.
Extra Comments: We liked it here so much we had lunch here later in the
week. Food allergic dd had Rice Dream for the first time here and loved it! As with all of our other meals on the free dining plan, we tipped extra.
