Tiffy's Family Restaurant (Disneyland area)

Who: Andersons

Where: Tiffy's Family Restaurant

When: August 2009

What: Breakfast, lunch twice and dinner twice..

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)

Food: 3
Service: 2

Atmosphere:

Okay for Children: Yes

Okay for Couples: Yes

Be Sure to Try: Homemade ice cream.

General Tips: Fun atmosphere with player pianos and ice cream fountain in front.

The Mouse For Less Tip: Do not waste your money here.

Extra Comments: My husband and daughters loved the atmosphere. We ate here 5 times during our week stay in Anaheim. The only disappointing things was that we had the same waitress everytime we ate there (some European lady with an accent who was a little hard to understand). One day we ate breakfast and dinner there and she waited on us both times. When we asked her why she worked so many hours, she said that the manager needed her there because they were short staffed. I got the impression that she is taken advantage of because of her nationality. Also, the manager there (I assume he was the manager at the register) was really dirty and sloppy. I think he needs to bathe. We saw him twice during our stay there and both times he was really sloppy looking and seemed tired. I think he and that waitress work too many hours.

Okay for Children: no

Okay for Couples: no

General Tips: Empty parking lot and restaurant is a clue.

The Mouse For Less Tip: Do not waste your money here.

Extra Comments: My daughter in law's had cellophane from the decor tooth picks in her cole slaw. We order fruit to replace the cole slaw. Then her fruit had a black curly piece of hair in the fruit. My son's gravy was the same color and texture of the alfredo sauce. Im sorry but there food was not good at all. We wasted our money here. We had to go else where to get dinner.

When: April 26, 2009

What: Dinner - Chicken Soup, Roast Turkey Platter, Quesadilla, Chicken Strips, Salad, Ice Cream.

Price of Entrees: $65 for 5 (eating light)

Food: 0
Service: 4

Atmosphere: 0

Okay for Children: Yes. The kids food was the only edible part.

Okay for Couples: No, no, no.

Be Sure to Try: Nothing. The only good food was my son's chicken strips, which seemed to have come from from a frozen bag and not the restaurant at all.

General Tips: Don't eat here. They specialize in ice cream, & it really wasn't even good. I'm not joking.

The Mouse For Less Tip: Go across the street to CoCo's for a meal half the price & 50 times better.

Extra Comments: Our waitress gave us good service, but the restaurant was dirty & falling apart everywhere. My chicken soup was nasty. My fiance had the roast turkey w/ rice. It was minute rice for one, and he took one bite of it. I love broccoli, so I went to eat his. It was soooo overcooked it fell apart in my mouth & tasted heavily of chlorine. Same thing with the carrots. I almost puked, & had to spit it out on the spot. My daughter got the strawberry ice cream that really tasted like bananas, and my son had the strawberry cheesecake ice cream, that just tasted like cinnamon. The best part? SOOO overpriced. So if you like food that's 10 times worse than Denny's, dirty bathrooms, and have money to burn, this is the place for you!

Extra Comments: There are two old fashion coin operated pianos in the restaurant that will play one of ten songs each for a quarter. It is great fun and the kids love watching it go. There are also many old pictures of what the anaheim area used to look like before/during DL construction. They are very interesting to look at.
