Who: Janelle H.

Where: Carnation Cafe

When: 7-22-08

What: I had a delicious chicken pot pie! It was like a homemade pot pie, with plenty of veggies and a flaky, buttery crust. It came with yummy grapes, and I had a HUGE glass of milk to go with it.

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5- the chicken pot pie was soooo good!
Service: 5 - the servers are friendly and efficient.
Atmosphere: 4
Okay for Children:I don't have any kids myself, but the kids I observed seemed to enjoy their food. A little boy at the table next to mine was celebrating his 5th birthday, and the servers brought him ice cream and led the diners in singing "Happy Birthday" to him.
Okay for Couples: It's a cute little sidewalk cafe, not too busy but not deserted, so it'd be a good place for a "date" meal.
Be Sure to Try: I've been getting the chicken pot pie here for *years*...it's a consistant favorite, and one evry Park guest should try...you won't be disappointed!

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 5
Atmosphere: 4
Okay for Children: Yes, if there is a parade going by
Okay for Couples: Yes, the sidewalk tables are lovely, but for romance, the Blue Bayou is better
Be Sure to Try: The Club Sandwich was a chicken breast with bacon on a croissant with lettuce and tomato. Very tasty.

General tips: I'm pretty sure this restaurant doesn't take reservations, and it's one of only 3 restaurants in DL Park to offer waitress service, so try to eat "off schedule" to get a table quickly

MouseForLess Tip: There is an Annual Pass discount, and I glanced at the desserts and they were HUGE and probably big enough for 2 people to share.

Extra_Comment: The sidewalk tables are very pleasant, and lots of flowers add to the ambience.

General tips: we ate at 2 - the wait to get in was great but then waiting for our food was a long time. It is hard to wait that long for kids. My daughters food never came. we couldn't find waiter and then when we found someone they said they would bring it right out and then never did. We finally left and did not leave a tip at all. My daughter was not happy and so all of us were miserable!

Be Sure to Try: Breakfast croissant is yummy! Get a cinnamon roll to share, too!
