What: buffet lunch

Approximate Price of Entrees: $19.99 per person

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 4
Service: 4
Atmosphere: 4
Okay for Children: Yes, loads of choices. There is enough to fill up picky eaters, but there are quite a few dishes for the slightly more adventurous. A great place for the kids to try new things without being overwhelmed.
Okay for Couples: Yes, though not a romantic escape.
Be Sure to Try: Pearl couscous, tomato and cucumber salad, samosas, various carved meats. Desserts come in nice tasting portions so you can try several. :)

General tips: This makes a really nice place to take a break from the heat of the Animal Kingdom in warmer weather.

TheMouseForLess tips: As a buffet, you pay one price for all you can eat. There is enough here to fill you up at lunch if you've skipped breakfast. :)

Extra Comments: Some areas feel a bit crowded, but in general, it's a nice airy place decorated with items from various parts of Africa. For a real treat, request the breakfast juice to go with your lunch.

Food: 5
Service: 5
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: the chicken was really good and is huge, you can get an extra side and easily share this meal with a child

General tips: There is seating inside and outside, I would choose according to the climate, if you have been on Kali, I would suggest taking the food to an outside table, because with the AC you will get quite cold in here.

TheMouseForLess tips: You can easily share a meal and stretch the dollars that way, or if you are on the meal plan, stretch those meal credits. You can get a DDE discount here.

Extra Comments: We will definitely visit this restaurant again on our next vacation

Who: Angela G. and family Angela, Allan(dh), William(ds)

Where: Tusker House, Animal Kingdom (cs)

When: 10/4/2005

What: Lunch 12:14- 2- Rotisserie Chicken's with mashed potato's, 2 Chocolate Cake's, Large Coke and Large Water.

Food: 4
Service: 4 (long slow line)
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: Chocolate cake.

General tips: Go before noon or expect long waits and look for a seat in the back since they will be hard to find. You will also end up sharing a long table with other people.

TheMouseForLess tips: This meal with the dessert was enough for me to share with our son. Get a large drink no ice with and extra cup and share.

Extra Comments: good food

Who: The Skamarakas Family - Anna (mom); Jim (dad); Brighid (14); Eilis (4) Granuaile (4 months)

Where: Tusker House at Animal Kingdom

When: August 25th, 2005

What: Lunch: Anna and Jim shared the 1/2 rotisserie chicken, which came with a portion of mashed potatoes and green beans.
Brighid ordered the fried chicken sandwich, but ended up switching with her dad for the rotisserie chicken.
Eilis had the kids macaroni and cheese.

Approximate Price of Entrees: $7.99 for the rotisserie chicken
$6.99 for the fried chicken sandwich
$3.99 for the mac and cheese
$2.29 each for two large sodas

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 4
Service: 5 (counter service, but they were very friendly)
Atmosphere: loud and crowded the day we went, even though we chose an early lunch to try and avoid lines and crowds
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: Yes, although there was nothing romantic or special
Be Sure to Try: We enjoyed the rotisserie chicken

General tips: The lines to order food were deceptively short when we entered, so we figured we would have no problems finding a table. By the time we got out of line with our food, we thought we would have to share tables and split up. By chance, we found the last open table at the very back corner of the restaurant. I would say it is much better to send someone ahead to find a table, even if the lines look short.

TheMouseForLess tips: We try never to over order food, as most of the time, the meals are fairly large. This time, we ordered one rotisserie chicken meal for the two adults, and it was just enough - we had room for dessert, but we didn't leave hungry. The kids macaroni and cheese was a nice sized portion, and it came with an apple sauce and a drink - a very good value.

Extra Comments: The portion of fries was a little skimpy here, and when our daughter didn't like the chicken sandwich, the fries were not enough to fill her, which they have been in the past. We also love the kids meals in the Mickey shaped plates.

Who: The Waite Family Š Mary and Bob

Where: Tusker House at the Animal Kingdom

When: May 25, 2005

What: Two Rotisserie Chicken Dinners and Two Large Soft Drinks

Approximate Price of Entrees: Dinners -- $7.99 Each and Sodas - $2.29 Each. Total Price with Tax was $21.90. We did purchase the Dining Vouchers (which are no longer available) which entitled us to an entrˇe and a beverage and our choice of either a bottle of soda or water and either a box of popcorn or an ice cream treat later in the same day. The price for the two vouchers with tax was $25.54. We did save approximately $5.00 by using the vouchers.

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 5
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: The green beans that came with the meal were some of the best I have eaten and I am not a big green bean fan.

General tips: The dinner could probably be split between two kids or one adult with a small appetite and a child. Or you could supplement the dinner with a bowl of the corn chowder and share between two adults.

TheMouseForLess tips: If you have a DDE card Š use it.

Extra Comments: None that havenÕt already been stated

Who: The Nowak's - Bob & Joanie, Marie & Mike

Where: Tusker House - Animal Kingdom

When: Monday - March 8, 2004

What: Lunch

Approximate Price of Entrees: Large Diet Coke - $2.29, Reg. Coke-$1.99, Reg. Sprite-$1.99, Chicken Sandwich-$6.99, Rotisserie Chicken-$7.99, Side of Mashed Potatoes-$1.99 - Total including tax - $24.76

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 5 (Counter)
Atmosphere:
Okay for Children: Definitely
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: All of the food was excellen

General tips: This is one of the few places in the Animal Kingdom where you can sit in the air conditioning to eat. The chicken sandwich came with fries and the rotisserie chicken came with mashed potatoes and green beans.

Dollarless tips: If you're not really hungry, which was me - you can just get a side order of the mashed potatoes which is very tasty here. DD and Mike split the Chicken sandwich and fries.

Extra Comments: Remember there are no lids or straws for the drinks to insure the safety of all of the animals.
