Food: 4

Atmosphere:
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: couples could go there, but there is no romance factor
Be Sure to Try: The homemade soup
Extra Comments: we were just near the resort and decided to take a
look around and try the food court for future reference. We really
were not impressed with the food court, there was not much selection
and the food was the same as all the other.
Who: The Waite Family Ð Mary and Bob
Where: The Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge
When: May 22, 2005
What: Two Rotisserie chicken dinners. It came with cous-cous and some roasted veggies. I asked if I could substitute the macaroni and cheese for the cous-cous and veggies and was able to. We also purchased two of the smaller containers of milk. I picked up the package that contained three zebra domes and two mousse crunch cakes in it and Bob picked up a piece of pecan pie.
Approximate Price of Entrees: Two Chicken Dinners ($18.98); Two Containers of Milk ($2.58); and Two Desserts ($7.18) with Tax the total came to $30.61.

Food: 4; Was Hot and Plentiful
Service: 3; Counter Service
Atmosphere: 3; Counter Service
Okay for Children: 3
Okay for Couples: Yes unless you're looking for romantic. If you're looking for romantic, then this is not the place. :o)
Be Sure to Try: The Chicken was very good and it was nice being able to have a Zebra Dome or two without having to dine at Boma.
General tips: None really. As it is counter service, one does not need an Advance Dining Reservation here.
TheMouseForLess tips: Purchase a Refillable Mug if you think you will get your money's worth. Two mugs cost us $23.98, but we used them quite a bit.
Extra Comments: There are a lot more choices at The Mara than at the Roaring Fork at the Wilderness Lodge. Not that the Roaring Fork is a bad place, I just like the food court at the AKL better than the one at the Wilderness Lodge.
Who: The Wynns - me, 28, DH, 29, DS, 21 months
Where: Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge
When: September 25, 2003
What: Dinner - African Stew in a Bread Bowl, Side Salad, Breadsticks, Cheeseburger with Fries and Chocolate Milk for DS, we got coke from the machines (we were only staying three days, most of the time in parks, so opted not to
buy a mug)
Approximate Price of Entrees: I think the total was around 23
dollars, me and DS shared breadsticks and stew, he also had some of
DH's fries and DH ate my bread bowl, hehe
Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5, the stew was AWESOME, other stuff was avg fare but no
complaints
Service: 4, only because it seems a little chaotic in there...I
didn't know what to do exactly, but a CM came over and told me to
order my food, get any extras like the chocolate milk and salad out
of the cooler, then go pay...THEN go sit down and the food will be
brought out to me...we ate in the room, so I was getting all of it
myself..luckily they have trays you can use to take food to the
room, and even had a fixin's bar for the burgers.
Atmosphere: 4
Okay for Children: yes, counter service type
Okay for Singles: yes, but not romantic
Be Sure to Try: as I said before, I loved the stew.
General tips: If you aren't sure where/what something is, just ask,
there were CM's there to help you...I went at a rather busy time
apparently and with all the commotion I was a little lost (normally,
I'm pretty smart, lol)
Dollarless tips: The mugs are a good deal if you stay long enough, b/c the cokes in the machines are a dollar each (for a can)
Extra Comments: The pizza oven was broken the night I went in, so DH
was rather disappointed in that...but he said the cheeseburger was
good but not big enough to share. I got too much food with my soup,
salad, and breadsticks, so I shared with DS and DH.
