Who: Best Family

Where: Yak & Yeti

When: Oct 29, 2009

What: Lunch I had the Mandarin Chicken Salad and ds had the kids noodles.

Approximate Price of Entrees: $30, including tip

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 4
Service: 4
Atmosphere: 4
Okay for Children: Yes
Okay for Couples: Yes
Be Sure to Try: The salad was very good, but I would definitely get the noodles. They were very good. The kids meal came with a side of rice and jello. Plenty of food.

General tips: Try to sit downstairs, especially with little ones that may need the restroom.

TheMouseForLess Tip: Annual passholders discount.

Who: Earl Benway (party of 1)

Where: Yak & Yeti Counter Service Animal Kingdom

When: December 5, 2008

What: Lunch:
Honey Chicken ($8.95)
Mango Pie ($3.49)
Large Soda ($2.59)

Approximate Price of Entrees: $15.77 (Counter service Dining Plan)

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 4 - food is good but a pain to eat out of the Chinese takeout boxes
Service: 3 - Not overly friendly - was rushed to take my order even though no one was around.
Atmosphere: 5 - Tons of things to look at.
Okay for Children: Yes - Typical kids meals available. No covers available for soft drinks. Could created a problem with younger children.
Okay for Couples: Yes - Take your meal and eat in an area by the water.
Be Sure to Try: Honey Chicken - Good size pieces of all white meat chicken with white rice and broccoli. Rice is on bottom followed by brocoli and then chicken. Could use a little more sauce if you want to taste it on the rice.

General tips: Limited seating around the actual resturant. Look for tables down the road towards Africa. Plenty of seats hidden by trees along the water.

TheMouseForLess tips: Reminder - Animal kingdom does not use covers for their drinks. Be carefull walking with your tray as the paths are not always even. Be prepared to either drink it all or throw it away or risk spilling it on you or someone else.

Extra Comments: Not a lot of cover for tables in case of rain. Be prepared.

Who: Linda N, DS (age 13) and DD Iage 11)

Where: Yak n Yeti, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park

When: January 26, 2008

What: Lunch. Wonton Soup, Side Salad, Crispy Honey Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, cream cheese wonton dessert

Approximate Price of Entrees: Total bill $53.94, plus tax and minus AP discount. Total was $53.40. Tipped $11.00--server answered all the typical questions of a TA.
Wonton Soup: $4.99
House Salad $5.99
Sweet/Sour Chicken: $15.99
Crispy Honey Chicken: $15.99
Wontons w/Pineapple Dessert: $7.99

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!) 4.0
Food: 4.75
Service: 4.5. WOuld have been a five but I had to wait for a while for drink refills. He knew the menu quite well and made recommendations.
Atmosphere: 4.5. Great theming, comfortable chairs.
Okay for Children: YES. Busy, busy place. May find kids menu restrictive and not a lot of choices.
Okay for Couples: YES. But its not quiet.
Be Sure to Try: I really enjoyed everything we had, although I was prepared to hate it due to my general dislike of the RFC.

General tips: They seem to have a bit of a problem with crowd control for check in. Lobby is way too small for the numbers of guests that come through. Its raining today at Disney and there were way too many people pushing and shoving to get out of the rain. I was 10 minutes late for my ADR (finishing the Nemo Musical) and I had to wait 15 minutes for a table.

TheMouseForLess tips: Portions are good if you are hungry. I had soup and salad and picked off the kids' plates for the stuff they did not finish. They ate a whole lot though and I had only a bite of chicken and a little bit of rice. Adults with normal or hearty appetites would not be able to share their entree.

Extra Comments: Make an ADR. This place takes a lot of walk ups. I was prepared to hate YnY as I really dislike the Rainforest. YnY is more of an "upscale" chinese restaurant. Tables are well spaced, service was very good. I wasn't thrilled with my table assignment as we were not taken past the first room (which made observing the lobby quite easy.)

They accept the DDP (one TS credit) but NO DDE card. I used my AP for a 10% discount.

I'll go back. It was really good.
