Pop Century Resort
MFL Pop Century Resort Information Page
WDW Website: Pop Century Resort

Submitted By: Denise "Hypermommy" Duggan

Name Of Resort: Pop Century Resort

Date Of Stay: December 8-13, 2007

Type Of Resort: Disney Value

Rate Paid During Your Stay: $60+ per day. Linda from TMFL got me a great Florida Resident rate.

Room Sleeps : 4

Please Rate The Following On A Scale From 1-10 (10 being the best):

Theming: 10
Room Size: 9
Amenities: 10
Quality: 10
Cleanliness: 10
Transportation: 10
Recreation: 10
Value: 11
(note: my ratings are based on what I expected and/or what I receive when I stay at similar places offsite)

Over All Rating: 12 ( I just love this place )

Don't Miss: Take a nice walk by the lake. They have signs that lay out some significant events that happened during each decade (yes, Star Trek premiering in 1966 is included!). And for a really pleasant quiet time, take a walk out Generations Gap bridge.

Room Location Suggestion: The 80s building was great. It's just a shortcut across the parking lot to the main building. But there was some funky smell each time we walked past a certain section of the resort.

The Mouse For Less Tip: Make sure you get the mug. A small cup of coffee is $2.16 so if you get 6 days worth of coffee you've paid for the mug.

Comments: If you're used to fancy places you're not going to be happy with the Pop. But if your family usually stays at a Motel 6 or a Super 8 or something like that you're going to love this place. It's so nice to be onsite and not have to pay triple digits to do so.

Don't Miss: All the picture opportunities at this resort, and in the early morning the walk around the hour glass lake is breath taking, And don't miss the fun in the food court first thing in the morning they do the Twist with guest and Cast Members it's a lot of fun.

Room Location Suggestion: Well we've only been in 3 bldgs. so far and I have to say I liked bldg 10 the most first floor and right next to the buses it was great short walk to the food court and the buses.

The Mouse For Less Tip: Getting the mug at the resort. I believe this is the best thing Disney came up with for those of us who drink a lot.

Comments: My only comment here is why spend all that money on those big fancy resorts when all your going to do is sleep in it? Just think of the money you could have to eat and buy all those souvenirs with. So I say pick a value and have some fun visit the others to see what they look like but don't waste your money rooms really aren't any different.

Don't Miss: As a value resort goes, this is the best in my opinion. We have stayed at 2 of the All-Stars in the past. Pop is cleaner and pool is larger.

Room Location Suggestion: Pay the extra for the preferred room

The Mouse For Less Tip: The food court is large and offers a large variety of foods.

Comments: The staff at check in were very, very nice. Although we did not get ajoining rooms with our friends as requests they were quick to offer to place flowers in their room that we had brought with us. The bus system coming home from the parks can be rough (very crowded).
