Don't Miss: The pool area – especially in the evening. I really enjoy the
lights near the pool area. Olivia’s is also a good spot for a meal, especially if you are having a hard time getting a reservation other places.
Room Location Suggestion: If you are going to be relying on Disney transportation, you may want to request a room near the bus stops. We have never had a bad room location though, each has pros and cons.
The Mouse For Less Tip: At certain times of the years, special pricing may
be available for FL residents, AP holders and even the general public.
Comments: The extra space at Disney’s Deluxe Villas is really wonderful
for larger groups. We also love the added amenities that are available
like the washer and dryer and full kitchen. Because we stay in a larger
room, our whole family enjoys the vacation, and each other more!

Don't Miss: One of my favorite things about staying at Old Key West is the large verandahs. Try to put aside some time to just sit and watch the golfers, or the birds. Also, the new-ish pool slide at the feature pool is really fun.
Room Location Suggestion: We requested one of the one-bedrooms that have two doors into the bathroom. Otherwise, everyone needs to troop through the master bedroom to get to the toilet. You can also, now, book a guaranteed room near the Hospitality House and the feature pool, if there are any available for your dates. We didn't do that, as we like the quieter buildings back on South Point Road.
The Mouse For Less Tip: If you're going for a deluxe resort, you get much more square footage for your buck here at Old Key West. Also, the cheapest way for non-DVC members to stay at Old Key West is to rent points from a member!
Comments: This is a beautiful resort, and a great way to have a Disney vacation while getting away from it all!

Don't Miss: The main pool has a water slide that is great for kids
and adults. The pool is also very spacious so if you have little
ones, there is an area where you can swim with them, but the older
kids do have a tendancy to come over. Most of the life guards were
very friendly. The hot tub was great at the main pool.
Room Location Suggestion: Stayed towards the middle near a
secondary pool.
The Mouse For Less Tip: Nothing special.
Comments: Was very disappointed with the transportation to the main pool and lobby. You either had to take a 'Park Bus' or walk. If you needed a little snack it would take at least a half hour to get to the snack shop and back. Did not like we could not get clean towels on a daily basis without paying an extra fee. Must be a 'Time Share' thing. Overall, I would not go back here.

Don't Miss: Boat ride to Downtown Disney - you pass the old tree houses along the way. What a shame we can't stay there :(
Room Location Suggestion: We were VERY far away from the main check in
place. It was quite a long walk to catch the boat or get food. Pools are scattered throughout so you would always be close to a pool but if you're looking for food and recreation I would ask to stay closer to the check-in area.
The Mouse For Less Tip: Washers/dryers were free at the pool. Went
down with a cup of quarters and got to spend them in the penny press machines instead!
Comments: This is a very old resort. It was the original DVC property.
The theming was great, very tropical but it has seen better days. We had a studio and the refrigerator leaked so the carpet between the room and the bathroom was always damp and musty smelling.
