Don't Miss: THIS RESORT ROCKS THE FREE WORLD. As you can see from our other reviews, we are die hard "on property" fans. However, if you are ever tempted to stay off property, THIS IS THE RESORT. We LOVED the character breakfast (Sponge Bob, Dora, Blues Clues, Rugrats) and the POOLS were completely off the chain. This is a GREAT resort for families with young children (preschoolers) and teens. The resort amenities (pools) are so awesome that the resort asks you to wear wrist bands during your entire stay to identify that you are a paying guest and not someone who lives locally or from another resort. The pools really are awesome, from the non-swimmers on up.

Room Location Suggestion: We had preschoolers, and requested a 1st floor room near the pool, and we were given room 512 and this was PERFECT. Loved it.

The Mouse For Less Tip: There is a character breakfast, however you can skip this and eat a FREE breakfast buffet which is very nice.

Comments: The key thing about this is that THE KIDS GET THEIR OWN ROOM!!! How nice... our kids are 2 and 4 and to have them in their own room with a twin bed for each was just priceless. Also, we had a standard room, and it was a 2 bedroom SUITE and it had THREE TVs! All TVs had just about every cartoon channel available (PBS Sprout, Noggin, Nick, Disney, TVLand) as opposed to Disney which has, well, only Disney. Also, it has buses that run from the resort to all of the area parks, and it offered SPECIAL discounts on Universal passes (buy one adult pass get a kids pass free!).

The resort is totally a destination resort all of its own - you could go here for 2 days at least and just enjoy the grounds, the games, the concerts and all of the free fun on the grounds.

It is not a matter of "if" we will return... it is a matter of WHEN.

After staying here, I am convinced that this is the reason that All Star created family suites. Disney had to do something to compete with this, because this resort seriously is one of the best I have seen, from a kids perspective. It is not as "plush" as a deluxe resort, but it is much better (and cheaper) than getting 2 Value rooms.

Don't Miss: Check the schedule! They have shows going all hours, including a Double Dare type show in the evening; games by the pool; holiday shows; etc.

Room Location Suggestion: I think any room would be fine, but keep in mind that if you request the SpongeBob Suite, you will pay more for the same room you would get if you were in the Danny Phantom room or the Farily Oddparents room - it's just that Spongebob is popular.

The Mouse For Less Tip: The shows are free and great entertainment for the kids on a day away from the parks. The pool area also has a bunch of activities to keep the kids busy.

Comments: Our room was overrun with ants. This would not have bothered me as much as it did, except when I called the front desk to ask for some bug spray, the woman said, "Oh, yeah, you've got ants." If she already knew I had ants, why was the problem not addressed before we were given the room? Also, because we kind of just dropped our stuff off in the room and didn't get back in until the evening, we ended up packing a bunch of our stuff back in the car to keep it from getting infested with the ants.

They did graciously offer to refund our money for the night's stay, and we were told by the hotel manager that our room would not be reassigned until the problem was resolved.

We also waited nearly 3 hours for someone to come with bug spray
