Over All Rating: 9

Don't Miss: Excellent arcade, great views of Electrical Water Pageant & MK Fireworks, Chef Mickey's, Parasailing

Room Location Suggestion: In the tower, both the MK & Bay Lake sides have great views. On the Bay Lake side, you can see the Electrical Water Pageant and can catch glimpses of the fireworks at EPCOT. On the other side, you get great views of MK.

The Mouse For Less Tip: This resort is expensive! Go during value season only. We saved for years to afford this trip (for my DS' 12th birthday).

Comments: If your kids are around the 3-1/2 ft. mark, watch out. It seems like every desk, counter, mantle, etc. in our room was that height. My nephews bumped their heads more than once when they came to see our room.

Room Sleeps : 5 (there were only 2 of us, though - me and my Mom)

Amenities: 10
Quality: 10
Cleanliness: 9
Transportation: 10
Recreation: 10 - my Mom and I , who have been to the parks a gazillion times, spent a lot of time at the resort and had a lot to do.
Value: 7 - It is a deluxe hotel and was perfect for us who spent a lot of time here, but if you plan on just sleeping or maybe swimming at the hotel, you can opt for somethng less expensive.

Over All Rating: 10

Don't Miss: BVG has some of the best shopping; California Grill is a special place to splurge for dinner; Also, the game room is fun (me and my 65-year-old Mom had a ball acting like children and then giving our mound of tickets away to some little ones looking for a prize).

Room Location Suggestion: Some might prefer the tower, but it's more expensive, and we really liked our garden wing room looking out at the lake.

The Mouse For Less Tip: The transportation is so good here that you won't need a rental car at all.

Comments: Just a little personal note - Both my mother and I have such fond memories of staying here years ago with my Dad who passed away a few years ago. This was his favorite place and Mom and I spent a lot of time remember how it was years ago and enjoying the nostalgic, the classic and the new.

Don't Miss: The Concourse Steakhouse was FABULOUS and we had the best waitress & our kids LOVED the pool slide.

Room Location Suggestion: We stayed in a Garden Wing Room - North Side - our patio opened up to the playscape. The kids loved that especially when we were getting organized to leave the room each day.

The Mouse For Less Tip: The room size is awesome! The Refillable Mug - a must have! Also, no worry of your refrigerated items getting cold enough. Our bottle water had ice in it each morning!

Comments: We stayed here before back in 2002 and though we had read totally negative reviews of the hotel recently, we wanted to go back. We weren't in the least bit disappointed! Yes, we would have LOVED paying less a night, but we reserved the room w/the knowledge that we may not get a discount. We loved the convenience of the monorail being just an escalator away in AIR CONDITIONING! And, yes, we even enjoyed the food court! We found it to be always clean and received our food in a timely fashion. And, our kids totally loved the arcade. The staff were very accommodating and our rooms were immaculately cleaned by noon daily. We will stay there again when we go back in 2008!

We arrived early Friday. On check in we valet parked the car for $6. It was just easier not to worry about parking and get to our room ASAP. I only left the car in valet for 1 day. Then I got the car back to drive to MGM. When we returned from MGM, it was easier to self park. So I saved a little cash.

Check in was quick. I found the staff to be very pleasant. The bell man gave us many tips as he was walking us to our room. He asked if we had a car, we did. So his tip was to avoid the Disney transportation if we wanted to get to a park quickly. He said the quickest way to get to the Magic Kingdom was to walk, and this was only about a 7 minute walk. I found that It was easy to walk to the park, and to take the monorail back, as the Contemporary is the first stop when leaving the Magic Kingdom. It was also easy to take the monorail to Epcot. We drove everywhere else.

The south wing is the farthest from the Magic Kingdom walkway, but near the pool. We found the walk to the walkway only to take under 5 minutes.

The elevators on the South wing seem old but work fine. The hall carpetting had some stains. The room was bueatiful! It was a big room with a 25" TV. Still very limitted on the channels. My kids wanted Spongebob, but you can't get Nick. There were 2 queen beds and a couch that converted into a twin bed. In front of the couch was a big oval table. I liked having this bigger table with the couch. The kids all fit better around it.

There was also a chair with an ottoman in the room, and a fridge. The room had a safe with a key.

Overall, I would say that this resort is not as pretty as the Polynesion. But Because of the location being within walking distance to the Magic Kingdom, I have to pick this resort as my new favorite. You really can't beat the location.
