All Star Music
MFL All Star Music Information Page
WDW Website: All Star Music

Submitted By: Leilani Wagner

Name Of Resort: AllStar Music Resort

Date Of Stay: March 17 – March 24, 2007

Type Of Resort: Value

Rate Paid During Your Stay: $82 per night, special rate sent to me by mail.

Room Sleeps: 4

Please Rate The Following On A Scale From 1-10 (10 being the best):

Theming: 9, theming of the resort is great – though we missed getting towel animals
Room Size: 8, size is what we expected – it’s small but that should be expected in a value room
Amenities: 9, hair dryer & iron in the room. We don’t need a coffee maker but a refrigerator would be nice in the values.
Quality: 10
Cleanliness: 10
Transportation: 10, we used our car some of the time but when we used the buses we didn’t have much of a wait
Recreation: 10, piano & guitar pools were great
Value: 10

Over All Rating: 10

Don't Miss: Nothing really.

Room Location Suggestion: We were in Broadway which was a bit far for the main building but we had close parking spaces for our car.

The Mouse For Less Tip: Just staying here is less expensive than anywhere else on site. Breakfast in your room cuts back on some expense.

Comments: All the Value resorts are great for the money if space is not a big issue for you.

Don't Miss: Walking down the entire "lane". There are some great photo opportunities, and it looks really cool at night with the giant icons all lit up.

Room Location Suggestion: It is definitely worth it to get a preferred room (which is located in the Calypso buildings 1 and 10) or the Jazz Inn, for a non-preferred. Much closer to the main building, and buses.

The Mouse For Less Tip: A great place to stay. We were there during the "dreaded" cheerleading competition, and Pop Warner was happening as well, so it did seem as though the whole All Stars Resort area was a little overrun with rambunctious teenagers, but it did calm down after about 10pm, and I would guess that they didn't really stay in the preferred rooms, so I think this also made a difference. I definitely liked staying at the ASMu in Calypso, over the POP in the 90's.

Comments: The only thing I would like to share is that regardless of the cheerleaders, and the football players, we found it quite easy to get around the entire resort using WDW transportation. Almost every time we boarded a bus leving the resort, it was "resort specific" and not shared with the other two All Star resorts. Sometimes on the way back to the resorts it was the case, but almost never on the way out. It was a great experience.

Date Of Stay: 11/29/06-12/3/06

Rate Paid During Your Stay: Don't know, it was a High School Orchestra trip, $620 each included airfare, room, 4 day parkhopper pass and $72 for food.

Don't Miss: N/A

Room Location Suggestion: We were in Broadway, I think Calypso would be better, I don't know how to get close-in rooms at Value resorts, I always end up far away. Teenagers always forget stuff & hv to go back to the room, these round trips to Broadway took alot of time.

The Mouse For Less Tip: I would keep my coffee cup & refill it - no one seemed to mind! I thought the beds were very comfortable.

Comments: I was with a High School Orchestra, there were other High School groups there who had later curfews & were really noisy after the "quiet hours" started at the resort & pool. Just know all High School groups are not bad news, some are really respectful of the rules! Disney's "Magical Express" doesn't seem to be very well run = when we needed to depart our bus was not there @ 6:10am, a bus arrived at 6:35am partially filled w/ guests from other resorts - there wasn't enough room for all our students, luggage & instruments (Cellos, Basses, Violins & Violas). We had to wait 20 more minutes for another bus & split our group. We were supposed to have a designated bus because there was 50 of us w/ some very large instruments!

Don't Miss: Like Pop there are many interesting themes at this hotel, we loved the fact that the paths were designed to look like sidewalks and the street. Instead of tar you have grass with white lines and there was a crosswalk and there are benches and streelamps. Very cool.

Room Location Suggestion: We had a non-preferred room, but it was not too bad a long trek to the main building but it was not too bad.

The Mouse For Less Tip: Getting a Non-preferred room.

Comments: We extended our stay and there were no rooms available at Pop and the only place that had any rooms, and any rooms with a discount was this hotel. So we moved. Arrived and everything seemed nice. I have to say that I feel the pools at Pop Century are is much better condition and look cleaner. I found that the pools are not as clean, or just maybe more worn then Pop. The pools do not look as nice as they do in the photos. My DD did not want to get in the pool, and was quite upset. While there are many things that were nice about this hotel. That was a big let down for us. I doubt I would stay there in the summer. I did like the fact that they are wired for High Speed Internet, Pop has not been wired yet.
