Don't Miss:
Room Location Suggestion: Savannah View room overlooking Arusha savannah - giraffes, zebras, antelope, lots more right outside your balcony - our room was 3321 - same floor as the lobby - *very* convenient.
The Mouse For Less Tip: Lots of outlooks located around the resort to view
the animals, many activities (most at no cost) around the resort for children - check schedule in the lobby or near Boma restaurant. With the AP room only rate we saved $101 off the regular room charge per night - this savings alone made purchasing my AP worthwhile! (but I also got three trips to WDW in, and saved a lot through the DDE card and AP discounts at WoD too...)
Comments: AKL is our favourite resort (so far) on property - we look forward
to staying there again. The resort is gorgeous, beautifully maintained - we
loved walking through the lobby. Every CM we met there (Front Desk, greeters
in the lobby, mousekeeping, maintenance, pool, restaurants, Bell
Services...) was warm, welcoming and friendly. The savannah view is worth
every penny (even if you paid full price!) The only little tiny thing about this resort is that you have to take the bus (or drive) to get anywhere else (that is why I rated transportation a 9). The resort is removed, and we actually liked that - you really feel like you are away from it all (nice on vacation). That said, it only took us 12 minutes for the drive to MK, and the buses came regularly. AKL does not
share buses with any other resort which is also nice.

Don't Miss: All of the different savannas!
Room Location Suggestion: Arusha trail
The Mouse For Less Tip: bell services was invaluable! Having stayed
at ASM last time, it was great to not have to lug our luggage.
Comments: Especially if you love animals, treat yourself and do this
at least 1 time. Also - plan to have 1 day to relax and enjoy the
pool, hot tub and animals. The room service was also very nice and
not that expensive if you just got sammies.

Type Of Resort: Disney Deluxe
Rate Paid During Your Stay: $289.92--this included the $50 extra fee for 4 adults in one room + the resort tax. This was with the AP best rate program. The rack rate for value season for a savannah room is $280 before taxes for double

Don't Miss: The resort--take the time to look around.
Room Location Suggestion: Definitely go for a savannah view--it was very much worth the money.
The Mouse For Less Tip: It wasn't cheap but it was more than worth the money.
Comments: I would recommend only staying at AKL when you have the time to enjoy the resort. We loved being able just to wander around. It is not worth the money if you are only sleeping there. Take time to check out all the animals. And definitely do the night vision goggles!!
