After months of being closed while enhancements were being added and just in time for the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Pirates of the Caribbean at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World are once again open. Captain Jack Sparrow and his nemesis Barbossa have joined the original buccaneers and add a terrific twist to the adventure. There have been several new special effects added, too.
MFL member Catherine Zepeda and her family experienced the newly re-opened POC at DL and shared these photos with us.
We get our first glimpse of Captain Jack Sparrow in the "dunking scene". Listening to the new script, we learn that Jack is being hunted.
Hidden behind the bodices of the local dressmaker, we spot Captain Jack! The new Audio Animatronics provide such life-like movements that you'd swear that Johnny Depp himself was hidden inside of the attraction!
Entering the next scene we can see that it too, has been changed. The pirate, with the help of his dog, is now hunting Jack.
Captain Jack is now hiding in the large barrel that the cat was previously perched upon. Apparently checking for safety, he "pops up" and looks around.
The movement of Jack's head and eyes is truly amazing!
