Be Sure to Try: Castaway Cay!!! This has to be one of the number one reasons to sail on the Disney Cruise Line - one day at this beautiful paradise is worth the price of the cruise ;)

General Tips: If you can afford a verandah - even a Navigator's verandah - do it!! I can't even explain the feeling of being able to walk out on your own verandah and have coffee, or gaze up at the moonlight reflecting on the open sea.

Dollarless Tips: Make your reservations as soon as you know your travel dates. This way you will get the best price for your cruise. Disney rarely offers last minute specials; instead they choose to offer lower prices for those who book early. Book with www.themagicforless.com to get the Disney Cruise Line savings and an additional MagicforLess Bonus.

Extra Comments and Suggestions: The Disney Cruise Line has beautiful ships with wonderful public areas and cabins that are larger than many other cruise lines. These cruises are for everyone - families, singles and couples young and old!

Ship: The Disney Wonder

Date of Cruise: March 25 - 28, 2004

Itinerary: 3 night cruise to Nassau and Castaway Cay

On a scale from 1-5, 5 being best:

Embarkation: 5
Ship's Public Area: 5
Cleanliness of the Ship: 5
Formal Dining Food: 4

Be Sure to Try: The three main shows were incredible. Disney Dreams is a must see. Hercules is a crack up and Golden Mickeys is more traditional Disney. If you have to choose, go by your taste (comedy or traditional).

General Tips: Think hard about dining times. Dinner takes around 2 hours. This made the 8:30 dinner ending at 10:30 very hard on our children.

Dollarless Tips: Book very early in a category 11 during a busy season and don't ask for a specific room, just guaranteed category. Be ready to be happy with your 11 - but hope for an upgrade. We ended up in a category 8.

Extra Comments and Suggestions: Spend time on the newsgroup before you go. They had a lot of great suggestions.

Although my ratings were very high, I don't know if I will cruise again because I just don't know if it is for me. We had gale force winds with high waves and this did affect my overall opinion. Even if you don't get motion sick normally, take precautions.

Ship: The Disney Wonder

Date of Cruise: April 21 - 25, 2002

Itinerary: 4 night cruise to Nassau, Freeport and Castaway Cay

On a scale from 1-5, 5 being best:

Be Sure to Try: The shows, movies, Castaway Cay and Palo. Although we did not try Palo on this cruise, we later tried it on the Magic and found that it is an absolute MUST!

General Tips: If you're interested in the Dolphin Encounter, make sure to book before your cruise. We had expected there to be availability if we book as soon as we got onboard, we were wrong. It was booked solid quite a bit before the cruise date.

Dollarless Tips: For common excursions, it is much less expensive to book at the port than to book it on the ship. Children (at least children 5 and under) are often free when you book at the port, but not free if you book on the ship.

Extra Comments and Suggestions: Get to know the ports before your cruise so that you'll know what to expect so that you can make the most out of each port of call.

The staff on this cruise was incredible! VERY accommodating and attentive. Our kids (2 & 4 years old) absolutely LOVED every moment on the ship and cried when it came time to get off the ship. They have the best children's program in the cruising industry. Characters were scheduled and seen often on the ship and on Castaway Cay.
