General Tips: Carnival Cruise Line is a good "starter cruise line" for people who have not cruised before. The prices are the lowest in the industry. However, because of the low prices and the targeted audience (young), it is known as "party boats" and is often quite loude. It was our first cruise and we were happy with it, but when compared with other cruise lines afterwards, it was clearly inferior.
Dollarless Tips: For common excursions, it is much less expensive to book at the port than to book it on the ship. Children (at least children 5 and under) are often free when you book at the port, but not free if you book on the ship.
Extra Comments and Suggestions: Get to know the ports before your cruise so that you'll know what to expect so that you can make the most out of each port of call.
