Mickey's Toontown Fair, Part 3 -- 3/12/02
Today we will finish off Mickey's Toontown fair with a visit to the last 3...2 1/2 attractions. You'll see what I mean in a minute.
The first place we will visit is the Judge's Tent. Every fair has one and this is no exception. If you visit Mickey's Country House, you will find it empties into the Judge's Tent. This is a character greeting area devoted to the one and only Mickey Mouse. If you haven't had an encounter with the great one all day, then you may rest assured you WILL find him here. There is a preshow in the waiting area that show's old Mickey Mouse cartoons, featuring the ones with country fair themes. Fair warning, however, this line is pretty much always long and the visit with "the mouse" is quite short. They usher you in, you shake hands, get your autograph, pose for one (possibly 2 depending on the character wrangler) picture and out you go. The lines here, as everywhere, are shorter late in the day and during parades.
The Toontown Hall of Fame is stop number two. This is a store, character greeting area , and play area all rolled into one. It looks like a huge tent and is located just across the way from the Wiseacre Farm. There are three lines set up for character interaction and the characters vary at different times during the day. Have your cameras and autograph books ready, because they are just marginally less quick about getting you in and out than they are over in the Judge's Tent. It is air conditioned and there are benches and interactive toys, so it is a nice place to get a break from the heat of the day, especially if your littles are under 6.
Last is the 1/2, so called because it isn't an attraction, just the cutest bathrooms in all of the Magic Kingdom. Pete's Garage is where you'll find the potty in Toontown. It's also a great photo op. There is a toony car in front in which you can sit. Look carefully at that gas pump next time you are there- it's a hoot. There is a large area across from the Garage that is for stroller parking, and you will often find Chip and Dale in this vicinity as well.
That's a wrap for the Toontown Faire. I hope you will all take the time to visit it- even those without munchkins in tow. Oh yes- this is the last stop for the WDW Railroad before it makes the complete circuit back to the Mainstreet Station, so if you want to go to Tomorrowland, you have to get off in Toontown to do it. There is a very nice and secluded path, complete with benches between the two areas. It is one of my favorite places to catch a quiet respite from the crowds. Good place to go if you packed your own lunch or snacks, too.
