Ask Pam -- 4/2/02

John, A MFL Newbie, Asks:

I have a questions about all these posts I see with codes. What are they, who has them and can a travel agent book these?

Pam Responds:

Codes, codes and more codes LOL. I know it is all confusing, but Iíll do my best to explain it.

There are the "regular" codes that are available to everyone-these codes have no pin number and are not restricted to a specific group, nor do they have any other qualifications. They are available for certain travel dates, and usually are only available to book for a certain amount of time. In other words, they have an expiration date, so book early LOL.

Then there are the codes that are only available to certain groups-residents of certain states (yes they check you ID on check-in), people that hold the Disney Visa, annual pass holders, Disney Club members etc. These codes are targeted and available only to certain groups. >>>One little extra thing I wanted to note here. Those CZF codes were specifically for Visa card holders-if you have booked your room with that code and you arenít a visa card holder make sure you change to one of the other codes that are out there, or you will be charged rack rate when you check-in.>>>

Then there are post card codes. These are only available for the person that receives the post card. You have to have a PIN to use the code, and your name and address has to match the name and address on the postcard. If that is not the case, Disney is perfectly within their rights to charge you full rack rate when you arrive. Please donít use these codes if they were not sent to you, I donít want to see anyone pay more for their vacation when they check-in.

There are also up-sell rates that are sometimes available-there is really no code associated with these. These are usually offered to people who call inquiring about a value resorts and they a re offered a special rate at a moderate resort. These rates are usually not as good as the code rates that are available, and are harder to get.

Yes Travel agents can book just about any discount-code discounts. We book Florida resident discounts, other state resident discounts, annual pass discounts, teacher discounts at the Swan and Dolphin, Disney Club codes and all the types of codes you see above, and more. We can book room only or package reservations-whatever works for you. We can also take over your existing reservation if you have made it directly with Disney; All it takes is a fax with your information. The great thing is, every time new codes are released we call for our clients and get them the better rates. We worry about these codes so you donít have to. LOL By booking with us, you help support MFL, and you get our great planning advice, and those great code and other discounts.

Karen from Washington State Asks:
Is there a program that allows you to buy a ticket to go back to the park the next day at a discounted price?

Pam Responds:
There is a program for this, and it can help you save a little money when compared the price of single day tickets.

You save approximately $5 with the 2 day two park ticket, and $10 with the 3 day 3 park ticket. There are a few important things to point out about these tickets. They have an expiration date. The two day/two park tickets expire four days from the date of purchase. The three day/three park tickets expire six days from the date of purchase. You can only purchase these tickets at Walt Disney World. You can not purchase them ahead of time.
