I did the Segway tour yesterday and all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Disney again outdoes itself in an unique, quality experience.
They offer the tour daily at Epcot at 8:30 and 9:30am. The tour is limited to 10 people, 16 years and older.
You spend 1 hour "training" with 2 instructors in a special classroom. 95% of that hour is on the Segway practicing before you
hit the road in World Showcase.
The second hour is spent riding with the group. You go all around World Showcase....in and out of each pavillion...though the gardens,
around columns, even in and out of some of the buildings:)
You are given an opportunity for "free time" to take pictures and ride around by yourself, though the area is restricted and you have
to stay in close proximity to the group.
At the end, you are given a special Segway pin, and you must take an oath to NOT sell it on eBay!!!
We took my dad for his 64th birthday and he had a ball! It is not difficult and takes little skill, you just have to "try" and you CAN
do it. It was suprising how quickly one catches on and can start zooming almost like a pro!
Everything was A+...training time was well spent, and the time in World Showcase was the perfect amount.
The cost is $80 per person, but you can get a discount with DVC. We were able to get availability fairly easily, but it does fill up.
Yesterday was not my 1st choice, but I was able to get a date close to what I wanted. We were even able to cancel our 1st date and
reschedule without penalty or problem.
It was worth the 2 hours and the cost. It is truly a once in a lifetime, just plain neat-o thing to do! We're giving the tour as a
gift to the rest of our parents this Christmas!!
Give it a try...you'll LOVE it!!
