TheMouseForLess SURVIVOR CHALLENGE #11
Audrey
Disney Studios Busking Festival
Will be kicked off by a weekend of Buskers, and then will have random
buskers wandering around on New York Street afterwards.
Buskers can be musicians, magicians, mimes, dancers, jugglers, sword
swallowers, singers, clowns, unicyclists, almost anything imaginable!
Buskers come from all over the world to perform at Walt Disney World, and
although they are usually paid by the audience, in this case they will be
paid by Walt Disney World and no "hat" will appear.
The street should have three "stages" which are simply chalk circles in the
pavement, and the buskers are given a loose schedule with ½- hour
time-slots each.
Starring Acts are:
-Charlie Chaplin look-alike Michael Carl O'Neil - performs with his own
portable music - using spontaneous techniques to interact with audiences.
Often popular with the City Lights music, or specific music chosen to market
a particular event or theme, the character is very visual and flexible to
entertain all ages.
-Strawberry the Clown - Strawberry (aka Englishman Fraser Hooper) blends
mime with an array of circus skills, a dash of silent slapstick, a wealth of
experience and an almost instinctive knowledge of kids' comedy.
-The Stretch People - A unique collage of skillful furniture balancing,
eccentric dancing and physical madness.
-Venus - From the Netherlands comes Venus! Star of many of the world's
biggest festivals, including Europe's La Strada, Venus is no puppet on a
string. See the way she makes one diabolo respond to her every command -
then two! Then be awed by her phenomenal juggling technique.
Other performers will include:
-Juggler Alex Elixir
-Juggling duo "Orange D'Or"
-From Florida, child juggling act Tri Jesters
-Acrobatic act - Little Russian Circus
-From Toronto - female juggling act - Madame Buskerfly
-Acrobatic comedy duo - Las Piranhas
-From Maine, mime/juggler - Mickey O'Conner
