Introducing, SHANA BANANA- Music and Fun for Kids of All Ages!!!

Cast- Shana Smith and the Banana Band

What-Music, movement, imagination, whimsy, silliness, and learning are all part of Shana Banana's children's shows, but the key ingredient is FUN! Shana Smith is a professional singer, songwriter, guitarist, and lover of kids. She has brought together her backgrounds in playing acoustic music and working with children to create an educational and entertaining show that your children will want to enjoy again and again.

Shana Banana's song and story titles include "Toothbrush Rock, " which emphasizes Elvis-style, the fun and importance of brushing your teeth, and the story of "Black Beetle," which drives home the point that a person shouldn't be judged by what they look like. Shana Banana's songs and stories cover a range of subjects, such as learning, animals, dancing, helping others, and picking up trash. She also performs a repertoire of international children's folk music, from Japanese to Chinese to American Indian, and encourages children to learn simple foreign language words, phrases, and numbers.

Costuming- Shana and her band dress in various tropical prints featuring the color yellow and bananas. Each is slightly different from the others with Shana in her trademark small straw hat with a banana hat pin and red sneakers. There are 3 band members- bongos, base, and keyboards- all in khaki shorts and tropical tops, red sneakers, and sunglasses.

Audience interaction takes the form of having the kids gather in close to help sing and dance to the songs. A particular favorite is the "Popcorn Song" where the kids pretend they are kernels of popcorn cooking on the stove and then jump around pretending to pop.

Mickey , Minnie or Goofy , in yellow outfits, play bongos in the band or dance with the children.
